Guilds of Ravnica changes HYPE! —Sept. 11, 2018

Withe the spoilers being released daily, I have noticed the power level of some of these cards has been quite high. Particularly, Ionize is better than a Counterspell stapled to a Shock due to it only having one blue mana in its cost. I might take out Electrolyze for its utility and damage on one card.

I'll be posting more here as more great, aggressively costed Izzet cards get released (assuming there IS more).

This seems like the most well-rounded wizard deck I've found so far, I've been thinking about testing a jeskai build personally but the numbers and mana haven't lined up well enough to warrant the white addition. The mana in this seems solid enough to attempt that splash though, it would help mainly for the sideboard but adding in some amount of Path to Exile to the main seems strong also. Maybe going 8 Bolt and swapping them for Rift Bolt? The instant speed is the main reason since Rift Bolt is slower than sorcery and is telegraphing so much, but having access to better removal seems important against harder to kill creatures without needing Soul-Scar Mage in play. But that's just my take on it, I like my wizards being sneaky. Great work!

Thank you so much for the kind assessment! I could see a Jeskai Wizard deck working. Maybe a more Tempo build or even Control if you wanted. Meddling Mage, Reflector Mage and Aven Mindcensor are all great Wizards to play in White. Burrenton Forge-Tender is a great sideboard card too. This sounds like it could be a great tempo deck and might try one out myself! Good luck building!
