Modern Aura Hexproof GW (Selesnya) Infect

SpiritKing

Sideboard

So in here is barely something new... GW/Bant Hexproof or Bogles is a fairly known and solved deck in modern if you ask me, but i simply like to tune, twist and modify existing decks, so as to create something thats interesting, surprising and sometimes something completely new arises in the process.

This is not something completely new!

This is basially the known Bogles Deck, just added in a splash of black, since i just recently came across some Phyresis in my collection and i thought that if a deck could possibly abuse it, it would be a Bogles.

One cannot simply deny the fact that Infect basically halves your amount of damage that you need to get through.

We have the standard creature suite with playsets of Slippery Bogle and Gladacover Scout, anywhere between 2-4 Kor Spiritdancer and a lonely Tormented Soul in place of the mostly lonely Silhana Ledgewalker tha most lists bring. Tormented Soul isn't a Bogle per se, since it lacks the important keyword Hexproof, but it can't be blocked, which can be important considering our plan B (winning through poison counters).

The Aura Department is mostly unmodified. The typical playsets of some of Ethereal Armor, Rancor, Daybreak Coronet and Hyena Umbra along with 3 of each Sixth Sense and Cartouche of Solidarity, the latter working double duty as "sac protection" as well as a buff to our Bogle. One of each Spirit Mantle and Spirit Link for some extra evasion and a maindeck way to gein some life if needed, or Fog an opposing creature that threatens to otherwise outrace us. Lastly the 2 Phyresis as an experiment to half our clock and shrink anything that might be tough enough to live through blocking one of our Bogles.

Though you can add lots of outstanding black cards with the addition of black to the deck, i think the original character of the deck would be diluted by adding to much of blacks best (e.g. discard or more creature removal).

However in the sideboard we can benefit from the black mana in our deck!Surgical Extraction may be more cost efficient, for only , but Extirpate has the advantage of having Split Second, which can be relevant as well. 1 Abrupt Decay as a catch-all seems to reasonable, the rest is more or less a standard sideboard.

If you have any thoughts on this experiment, please leave them here for me to read them =)
