Sideboard

greeninfectdeck is a deck inspired by another older decklist for a Pauper deck 0 to 10 in 60 Seconds, as i remember it last. The mainboard is basically the same as it was, but I made the sideboard myself. Also, no Invigorates because this is modern. I bought this deck on tcgplayer with a box. it was stolen during school. only 20 bucks tho so its chill but yeah. so uh i went thru tcgplayer history and remade it exactly as it was. Then added a sideboard. It's a good deck. it can win on turn two if you get lucky enough. The usual mono green elf-mutagenic-giant-groundswell combo.

i felt like buying all this again so i will. re-acquired thus far: augurs, giantgrowths, pred strikes, elves, wolves, blessings, and predations. need to acquire: rest, sleeves, box.

I bought this deck for MtGO and it's pretty viable. It does what it's supposed to: it either wins fast or loses fast. This is a great budget deck for Modern players who want fast games that can still be fun. I would suggest buying a themed deck-box and sleeves, (and maybe a T-shirt for good measure) irl.

I'm looking for help with land base. 20 lands is perfectly fine. I want a few nonbasics, but I'm also not made of money so Inkmoth isn't viable. The three main lands for this are Cathedral of War for the Exalted. Llanowar Reborn for a bigger creature. Oran-Rief, the Vastwood for bigger creatures. However, they're all tap-lands so they aren't as good. Obviously, a full playset of Inkmoths which gives a flying infect creature is the superior choice, but as I said I'm not gonna shill out 60 bucks and quadruple the price of the mainboard for it. I'm cheap and poor, as the old MtG addage goes. I do love infect, though. So maybe some day. And it comes in untapped. It's such a good land. Actually now that I look it up. Pendelhaven is only 7.5.

Ideally, the perfect manabase for this deck would be 16x Forest, 2x Pendelhaven and 2x Inkmoth Nexus

I put it like this after realizing that Pendelhaven is legendary, and would be really bad to draw 2. And Inkmoth is colorless, and thus only has a little bit of use as a mana source.

Updates Add

I wrote this huge essay and it didn't save, so here's your sideboard update.

Infect loses to weenies (blockers), burn, and removal.

You don't have to side all of these in. Use your best guess as to what you'll need.

Weenies: Apostle's Blessing, Livewire Lash, Might of Old Krosa (swapping out 2x Groundswell), Unnatural Predation

Removal: Apostle's Blessing, Blossoming Defense

Burn: Removal's list + Wild Defiance. Wild Defiance counteracts Lightning Bolt while still buffing attack, and increases efficiency of all pump spells. Groundswell for +7/+7? Yes please!

When siding cards out, take out the worst ones first. The worst cards in the deck are probably Titanic Growth (since we're in mono green it's a direct downgrade to Vines of Vastwood.) You can easily replace it with 2x Might of Old Krosas. Rot Wolf is probably the second worst, since it's three mana and this deck has no ramp. It's good if you need the resilience or need more creatures. I mainly use it for the card draw in extended games, if it ever gets to parity. It's a great tool, and it fits nicely when you have a lack of pump. If you attack, since you get the card draw, they may hesitate to block. And if they do, he doesn't trade with 1/1s, and he gives you a card. But when speed or fighting burn is needed, then it's better to remove him. Yeah.
