When days grow short and nights get coldAnd autumn trees turn red and goldMove, we may, through sun drenched days'Midst leaves and berries and bales of hay

In our hearts we feel the lureToward darkness, shivers and things not pureWhile ghostly shadows creep slowly bySpying on witches and brooms that fly

Icy fingers that grab their preyAnd do bad things 'til night turns to dayHeed this plea to stay insideFind covers and blankets and sheets to hide

Slowly this night will fade to dayAnd fiends and monsters will crawl awayOnce a year, on this dank nightWe'll shake and shiver 'til morning light
