Sewer pauper is my take! It's quite similar but after playtesting your version i feel that my version is more aggressive. Maybe you can lower your manacurve to give it more edge? +1

Dash Hopes looks like an interesting addition, I'm completely new to the pauper format. I made this deck based on various Mono Black Control builds listed here:

http://www.mtggoldfish.com/metagame/pauper/full#online

I think I wanna run with this shell right now, your deck is more of an aggro deck. Which is pretty sweet in it's own right. The creature base here has a more controlling approach. Generally the deck wins with Gray Merchant of Asphodel or Corrupt. I try to drag out the game so I can gary or corrupt for a ridiculous amount. The deck is slower for that reason.

Sweet build though, I might try that out at some point.

I would probably ease up on the kill spells - a lot of the top pauper decks are not weak to straight up kill spells (aka decks that play blue like Delver and DelverFiend). Instead, add some more control via Crypt Rats (at least 3 in the 75 are needed) and 3-4 Unearth for the versatility it provides or 1-2 Disturbed Burial/Grim Harvest for the ultra lategame.

Thank you for the suggestions, This is real advice I'm looking for.

Crypt Rats is almost like Pestilence. I'll consider it, it does exactly what you want Pestilence to do except cheaper to play. Seems good!

I've played with Unearth and I wasn't sure how i felt about it, There were times I wish i could grab a Gray Merchant of Asphodel, but it does hit everything else in the deck besides angler. I do think Disturbed Burial could be ultra brutal after a Crypt Rats / Pestilence wipe.

This is a lot better than the first iteration. I would include hard kill spells instead of disfigure - 3-4 Victim of Night seems a lot better. You can kill most small things with Cuombajj witches or multiples of them. Add 1 more crypt rats main. They are invaluable as a mid to late game kill condition.

LD in the sideboard is moot - it is only used VS tron, a hard matchup for sure, but a single LD spell is not going to stop them. A single Undying Evil on Chattering will be way more useful in the long run vs them and it is more versatile as it can be used in other matchups (izzet control for example).

Thanks, I do see the value of Crypt Rats.

I'm not sure I'm sold on removing Disfigure from the list. You don't always draw witches, and cheap removal like this hits a lot of creatures in the format. Across all the meta decks.

victim is good removal for sure, but we have things like Oubliette and Tendrils of Corruption to deal with larger threats

Tendrils of Corruption feels like a better tempo play most of the time. Usually it's later in the game when my opponent plays something that Disfigure won't kill.

I recently picked up a playset of Undying Evil. I'll try to find a way to fit it into this list.

thank you for all your suggestions!

Hymn to tourach isn't playable in pauper because it wasn't printed as a common in an online set. Sorry to burst the bubble. I've been playing hymn since it was printed and love it. when I started playing pauper it was the first card I looked at

I mentioned it specifically in the in description:

I play in paper, not online.

I've always liked Dauthi Slayer in a suicide black devotion deck, maybe you could give it a try...

I live in the cities and am thinking about putting together a list for the Universe Games pauper events. What is the metagame like? Seems like mbc with the their ban-list would be the best deck in the format (something close to your list).

The meta game is pretty diverse, there are a lot of people who have most of the meta decks and play a new one each night. There is also a lot of creative brews as well. Last Saturday I played against a U/W control deck that gave me a run for my money.

There's a few U Delver decks, U/R Kiln Fiend is one always run into. I'm one of the few MBC players, There's someone who plays U/B Angler Delver, My brother plays Stompy, there's a burn deck or two. A G/W hexproof deck or two. Silver Tribal, etc. It's pretty diverse here, its always a mix of new faces and a few people you might have met once or twice.

Bottom line, be ready for anything.

I guess I could run 1 Geth's Verdict in the side and only 2 Diabolic Edict.

I'm running Diabolic Edict to get more edict effects against bogles.
