Ok, so competitive modern aggro. I'd reccomend running a set of Boros Charm for mixed protection and burn. Your curve is a little high- more stuff like Foundry Street Denizen/Goblin Bushwhacker, or rely on the ever present Path to Exile/( Oust/Condemn for budget ) Lightning Bolt, Thoughtseize ( Duress for budget) to stall for 3-5 mana drops.Brighthearth Banneret/Bramblewood Paragon are core warrior tribal for R/G, Gatekeeper of Malakir is strong if you can support the cost, Goblin Wardriver/Keldon Marauders/Mogg War Marshal/Spike Jester are all pretty playable and fairly cheap, higher on the curve there is a bunch of stuff- warrior is a core creature type so thats a thing. Shared Animosity and Coat of Arms are cards.
Rhys the Redeemed is a card, as is Mercy Killing and Non standard modern decks survive on their sideboard Mardu Woe-Reaper/Ash Zealot will deal with some major threats and isn't super high cost. Mogg Sentry can really mess with some counterspell and combo decks. There are examples on the site that work well, so have fun and happy brewing.

lagotripha I appreciate all the suggestions, I really like the idea of Brighthearth Banneret and Bramblewood Paragon, and of course the Boros Charm has a lot of utility, Goblin Bushwhacker could be nice but Ogre Battledriver gives the effect everytime. I'm also not meaning for this to be a burn deck of sorts the majority of the damage will be dealt by the creatures, at least that's how im visualizing it.

Holy shit this is... this is so cheap! Damn! I'm building myself this deck for less than a dollar in mtgo right away... one up from me!

Thanks Sgt.Pickles let me know how well it plays. I don't play the online game only paper and I'm waiting to collect all these cards to play with.

There are some cool new warriors in amonkhet if you're looking for inspiration. Maybe look at Combat Celebrant , Devoted Crop-Mate, Glory-Bound Initiate. I remember Goblin Heelcutter and Mardu Strike Leader being good in KTK and DTK limited but I'm not sure if they're warriors

Oh and I almost forgot, like Boros Charm Kolaghan's Command is really useful, especially in a aggro-midrange type of strategy like yours. It costs money, but if you want to increase the competitive-ness of this deck, try it out.

If you're going to be using exert creatures, try Always Watching . Bit expensive, but it allows you to exert your creatures every turn, cause exert doesn't actually tell you to tap the creature, it just taps naturally if it doesn't have vigilance. By giving creatures vigilance, they won't tap, so you can exert them every turn. It will go down in price once it rotates out of standard.

Also go up +1 Herald of for the same reason :P since warriors is a kinda stale acrhetype, I would suggest also cutting out some creatures that don't bring much to the table. I think the monuments should definately go as they are very slow, and don't synergize well with all o your deck, it being a 3-colour deck and many of your creatures won't get even bonuses. If you want to loot, go with something like Key to the City

Blood-Chin Rager makes your warriors almost unblockable. Definitely a strong card to consider!

I built a similar deck to this during the theros block for standard.
Not sure I agree with Herald of Dromoka, seems like you could do better for that spot. Same thing with Glory-Bound Initiate. The exertion gimmick is costing you too many cards I think, and warriors can be far more aggresive.
As for lands, you have far better options than Nomad Outpost without breaking a budget.
Not sure if this is something you converted from standard to modern recently, but in any case you could check out The Horde smiles at death - Competitive (budget) for some inspiration (maybe).

phDaemon what would you suggest as alternatives to the nomads outpost? As far as the exert I would think a 4/4 with lifelink by turn 2 is pretty powerful. I generally just play casual with friends but Im trying to make this competitive against most deck types
October 10, 2017 5:13 p.m.
apolloflame by turn 3 with warriors you could be swinging for a total of 9, 6 of which is double strike and one that comes back from the dead. And turn 4 can win you the game. Not sure if you checked out the deck I posted, but there's tons of good examples in there.
In case you're not looking at it:
Ideal Play (Possible win by turn 4):
- T1: Bloodsoaked Champion
- T2: Chief of the Edge: Hit for 3 (17).
- T3: Arashin Foremost: Hit for 9 (8).
- T4: Brutal Hordechief: Hit for 15, gain 3 life / Sorin, Solemn Visitor: Hit for 20, gain 20 life.
The pain lands are probably an economical option for these types of aggro decks (those are the ones I had for my warrior deck before I got shock lands).
Are all good choices.
For turn 4, there could be better choices than Brutal Hordechief, I haven't look around much. But when I was running warriors, it was about trying hard to not miss a drop or a play, since aggro is all about quick kills, swinging for the most damage possible as early as possible always made sense to me. In modern, a turn 3 4/4 is ok, but considering I can have a 4/5 goyf out, or a 5/5 scooze, it very much depends.
On top of that, competitively, you will run into Tas and Angler, both of which can generally be cast by turn 3 or 4 and both are bigger than a 4/4.

Also, in aggro decks, I especially recommend running 2 - 4x Valorous Stance. That card's utility is way too good to pass up. Especially in a meta with Fatal Push. It will not block Path to Exile, but most people would probably try not to use those up right away. Instead of Mardu Charm, I would run Secure the Wastes, and for the most part Crackling Doom is kind of worthless in modern, unless you're going up against a control type deck.
Kolaghan's Command is almost a must if you can afford the price (since you got the colors I would put at least 2x in my SB). I bought 8 of them when they were selling for a buck, I knew that card was going to be broken.
- -3x Devoted Crop-Mate
- -4x Glory-Bound Initiate
- -2x Always Watching
- -2x Mardu Charm
- -3x Herald of Dromoka
- -1x Honored Crop-Captain
- -4x Nef-Crop Entangler
+3x Blood-Chin Rager
- +3x Valorous Stance
- +2x Secure the Wastes
- +3x Sorin, Solemn Visitor (Your main wincon with some board state)
- +4x Chief of the Edge
- +2x Battle Brawler
- +2x Path to Exile
- +1 or 2x Brutal Hordechief as a topper / alt win-con
- +1 or 2x Hero's Downfall
Maybe if you find space for it, a Mardu Strike Leader.
- -2x Mountain
- -4x Nomad Outpost
- +4x Battlefield Forge
- +4x Caves of Koilos
- +2x Mana Confluence or City of Brass
Total 22 lands since your CMC is so low. You also need some wincon finishers, Sorin, Solemn Visitor is my aggro planeswalker of choice here. He also pairs nice with the painlands, basically having you recover any early self-pain. You should definitely use some disruption, probably Thoughtseize in SB otherwise you are highly vulnerable to wipes. Something on the sideboard for drawing extra cards wouldn't hurt either, e.g. Painful Truths.
So, for the SB, I would add
Depending on how competitive your meta is, there's a few other things you might need to add in there.
The core of most warrior decks look extremely similar because those are generally the best warriors out there.

phDaemon thanks so much for the tips and tricks. Im on a low budget, as I said I really just play with close friends. A lot of those cards are quite pricey but I can definitely see their use and effectiveness!

Voltaic Brawler is worth running extra shitty lands.

Just to clarify something.
I'm seeing a lot of hatin' on
A. The card is a slightly worse Accorder Paladin at face value and serviceable.
B. You don't HAVE TO exert it. But when you do, it's at minimum an eight point life swing.
I think it's not being evaluated correctly
