"Budget" Alesha EDH deck. Land base is relatively inexpensive. The decks goal is to abuse Alesha's ability, while keeping the curve low. The strategy is to get under decks and keep them on the back foot long enough to overcome them with conventional damage. This is a casual deck, but my play group has gotten more and more competitive as the years have gone by. I wanted to make something unconventional, fun, and versatile.

In my play group, this decks has been successful. A special consideration was to keep artifact usage low. Something I've noticed with recent lists nowadays, are that they use many rocks and other artifacts to accelerate the trajectory of the game. I want the deck to rely on few artifacts (or enchantments) while destroying/disrupting the opponents' setup pieces.

Besides the obvious targets for Alesha that are situational, let's talk about some of the interesting cards in the deck. Cards like Sheoldred, Whispering One, Aurelia, the Warleader, Sun Titan, Dusk, Immortal Servitude, and Reveillark are rebounds for the deck (I expect board wipes and removal to be a constant obstacle). MVP for the deck is a early Buried Alive. Gamble is good when every possible discard option is a target for Alesha or some other recursion (Dawn or Divine Reckoning). Last Rites, Sin Collector, Mindclaw Shaman are political disruption cards, Opponents' reveal their hands and with Last Rites, Alesha gets a setup.

Currently the deck is still being made with plenty of cards still trying to make their way in. On the fence about turning the deck into Land Destruction deck or Stacks (I can feel someone's eyes rolling, haha). In my experience, Mardu is a stellar color combo for a stacks decks. If there is something in the current build that any reader does not understand, please comment. I'm still feeling things out and appreciate the dissent. Example, cards like Eldrazi Monument I think is what the deck wants (keeps things fun and casual), but maybe the deck just needs some Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Restoration Angel combo so I can close out a dragging game. Maybe some of you are smacking your heads at why I'm not playing Master of Cruelties. Let me know what you're thinking!
