Commander / EDH* Superfriends

Coming closer and closer to having this deck tuned.

Could use some more suggestions for any major changes. (Besides The Chain Veil , I know I need it, I know I want it, but my wallet says hell no.)

Also I'm gonna apologize in advance for how long these sections of the description are for this jank ass deck.

The best part about a 5 color deck is that you get to utilize all of your 10 fetch and shock lands plus your hundreds of dollars worth of other mana base enhancers.

All of which I do not have nor can afford lol.

So my Ramp is very important and I have a bit of a semi-budget way of doing what I can.

Starting off we of course have Sol Ring and a handful of Signets, all of which can be cloned by Saheeli, Sublime Artificer on her Servo tokens to come in clutch when you are in a pinch.

The biggest mana fixing item in the deck is Chromatic Lantern which if it hits board and manages to stay early on can almost guarantee us smooth sailing when it comes to paying the costs for our diversely colored spells.

Next we have some quick fixes that will search for basic lands: Kodama's Reach and Cultivate along with the usual two basic fetchers Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse .

I don't have a huge focus on creatures in this deck so there is only two mana dorks, but they do tap for WUBRG which can be very useful. On top of that Leyline Prowler has the added benefit of deterring any swingers at an early PW. Mina and Denn, Wildborn can also let us potentially throw down two shocks per turn.

Without the option of fetch lands, I turned to my trusted, tried, and true Vivid lands. Which with the amount of proliferate happening later on, we can hope that they won't run out of counters anytime before we won't need them anymore.

Finally with the main land type in this deck being Forest we have got ourselves some spells that search for that type specifically: Skyshroud Claim , Ranger's Path , and Wood Elves can let us find a battle or shock land to really fix our mana base early or late game. Also with Nissa, Who Shakes the World we can double our mana supply from forests and if she ults could fix our mana base for the rest of the game even without our lantern.

Drawing is going to be super important for us both early and all the way through late game as some potential wincons can be met through drawing alone (Greater details later).

Think Twice and Read the Bones along with Indulgent Tormentor can gain us some card advantage throughout the game.

Heartwarming Redemption and Emergency Powers can really help us to wheel our hand into something much better or just cycle through to find the cards that we need, on top of potentially being copied by Ral, Storm Conduit can help us blow straight through our deck and get to some wincons quickly.

And one of my favorite cards is Borrowing 100,000 Arrows . Not only is it's name ridiculous, but if you manage to catch someone after that full swing you can find yourself drawing an absurd amount of cards if you copy it.

The added benefit of running super friends is the amount of PW's that can also draw cards for us all way through into the end of the game, and our own Commander Niv-Mizzet Reborn can also help cycle through the deck and grab numerous dual colored spells every time he slams onto the battlefield.

Whats better than using a powerful ability on a PW to add more loyalty counters to them? Adding double the amount they already have and ulting all of em on the turn you play them with Deepglow Skate !

Since we will be attacking, playing lands, and playing non creature spells I threw in Evolution Sage , Grateful Apparition , and Flux Channeler . Go ahead and double up with Doubling Season and you will have more Loyalty counters than you know what to do with.

A great combo with Doubling Season , Ajani, the Greathearted , and Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God or Spark Double can let you put 4 loyalty counters on each PW you control with no net gain or loss for Ajani or the one copying his ability + throw in Oath of Teferi and you get a potential 12 loyalty counters put on every PW other than the three above.

I think my favorite card in this section is Planewide Celebration , so for 7 mana you can proliferate 4 times... that's good enough on its own but with the option of life gain in a pinch, or returning key combo cards to your hand when you need them to win makes this card one of the best in the deck.

Also Huatli's Raptor is a good little dino boy, yes he is.

Not much to say here but finding the cards you need, when you need em, is a necessary part of every deck.

The biggest part of this is the OG himself Niv-Mizzet Reborn who can not exactly tutor, but let us shuffle through our deck at mach 4 and find the dual color spells we need. (Especially with a whopping 32 cards being dual colors!)

Of course there is Ignite the Beacon to grab us the PW's we may need, and even Thalia's Lancers to grab not just a PW, but cards like Primevals' Glorious Rebirth or Bolas's Citadel as well.

We cannot forget big girl Liliana Vess and her ability to tutor for us any card potentially multiple times as early as turn 3 or 4 if we ramp really hard.

Finally there is Bring to Light which is absolutely gonna tutor us a valuable card straight to the battlefield in a pinch.

So there is a plethora of different cards trying to do different things, which is leaving this deck pretty unfocused while I play around looking for the ideal wincons.

Currently there is synergies with Doubling Season , Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God , a handful of the other PW's, and anything that can proliferate.

Oath of Teferi greatly shortens it, but by building up the PW's and Bolas you can just win out by multiple ults building your board state: Creating a bunch of Vraska the Unseen 's assassins, drawing out your deck with Jace, Wielder of Mysteries , gaining 100 life from Ajani, Mentor of Heroes doubled by Bolas and play as many cards per turn as you can with Bolas's Citadel + you could utilize Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner to potentially nuke your opponents 3 times per turn, play Emergency Powers after ulting Tamiyo, Field Researcher or while Narset, Parter of Veils is on the field to create massive card advantage, and so-on and so-on.

Lots of very convoluted and combo-esque ways to win, but you could always just swing face with Bioessence Hydra if you get him up pretty strong, and do it twice per turn when you have my favorite card in all of magic history Aurelia, the Warleader in play.

If we can get our mana base YUGE and throw out Door to Nothingness we can have a delayed target player losses, but with Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner on the field we could make it activate the turn it is played, or even copy it with Saheeli, Sublime Artificer !

Acacyn, Angel of Hope + Hour of Revelation can help you win by nuking the board state for everyone but you. (I'm not degenerate enough to include Armageddon , even if ya'll might be.)

And finally for the easiest, stupidest, and yet the most satisfying wincon: Nuke the board of any legendaries and ult Bolas. gg ez no re

So how are we gonna get rid of any threats? Aside from the menagerie of removal from our multiple PW friends, we have lots of wipes and target removals.

Got some big boys pickin on ya? Elspeth, Sun's Champion will put em down. Too many Goblins? Time Wipe and Wrath of God will make some space. Things not going your way at all? Hour of Revelation will kill everything but lands. The Revelation not keeping em away? Exile their graves with Ashiok, Dream Render or pinesol clean that board with Merciless Eviction .

Single targets are annoying too, with plenty of dual color solutions such as Decimate or Despark , Niv will let you slap em down.

If Doubling Season gets taken out right away or you lose 10 PW's to removal, no need to fret. Primevals' Glorious Rebirth and Eternal Witness will bring those right back.

There is also Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord for creatures, and Tamiyo, Collector of Tales to snag other cards back as well.
