Mono blue aggro, I know, it sounds silly; but hopefully you will be as happily surprised as I was when I finished planning out and putting this deck together. Using hordes of cheap flyers and an unlikely artifact, this deck is capable of very explosive starts and will force your enemies to fight in the shade as you block out the sun with you creature army.

I came up with this deck while exploring the forecast ability and seeing if it could be taken advantage of. Sky Hussar, a creature that can not even be cast due to lack of white mana in the deck, is the card I decided to try and work with. Hussar's forecast ability allows you to draw a card during your upkeep by tapping 2 white and/or blue creatures you control. This effect can be used each turn and can be used multiple times if you have more than 1 Hussar in hand. Drawing cards is always welcome in any deck, and this deck needs to consistently draw cards to work well, but tapping creatures really slows down an aggro deck.

Enter Throne of the God-Pharaoh, The artifact that ties this deck together with a pretty little bow. This card deals damage to your opponent equal to the number of tapped creatures you control during your end step. Now, attacking with your flying creatures causes you to deal an extra damage to your opponent at the end of your turn if it survives. On top of that, using Sky Hussar's forecast ability also ends up dealing damage to your opponent!

The cheap flying creatures in this deck allow for quick early damage and board control on your opponent, constant card draw keeps your momentum going, and Throne of the God-Pharaoh makes sure your opponent is always taking the damage they deserve.

Card breakdown:

Sky Hussar the card that started the idea for this deck. Sky Hussar can’t be cast, as there is no way of producing white mana in the deck, but that isn’t a problem. Sky Hussar’s true power is in its forecast ability; by revealing this card and tapping two white/blue creatures during your upkeep, you are able to draw a card. While it may feel slow for an agro deck to be tapping its own creatures, it basically turns into free card draw when paired with Throne of the God-Pharaoh. Has 5 cmc for the activation of Disrupting Shoal.

Throne of the God-Pharaoh while Sky Hussar was the card I wanted to build a modern deck around, it was only made possible with Throne of the God-Pharaoh. This card is what makes this an agro deck. Now we can take advantage of all our tapping abilities and still deal damage to our opponent, on top of the fact that it effectively causes our 1/1 flyers to deal two damage when they attack a player directly.

Faerie Miscreant: A cheap flyer that can draw you cards if you play multiple copies; also helps Spellstutter Sprite.

Judge's Familiar: A cheap flyer that can be used to counter instant and sorcery spells, slows your opponent down by forcing them to leave 1 mana open.

Martyr of Frost: With the large amount of card draw to bulk up the hand and plenty blue spells in the deck, countering spells with this card is made easier.

Mausoleum Wanderer: A cheap flyer that can be used to counter instant and sorcery spells, slows your opponent down by forcing them to leave 1 (or possibly more) mana open.

Mistblade Shinobi: Used to bounce problem creatures an opponent may play. The large amount of cheap flyers makes activating ninjutsu easier. This card has 3 cmc for the activation of Disrupting Shoal.

Mothdust Changeling: An unlikely powerful support card for the deck. It is a cheap flyer that counts as both a faerie for Spellstutter Sprite and a spirit for Mausoleum Wanderer. Mothdust Changeling can also be used to tap my own creatures to help activate Throne of the God-Pharaoh.

Ninja of the Deep Hours: Additional card draw, the large amount of cheap flyers makes activating ninjutsu easier. This card has 4 cmc for the activation of Disrupting Shoal.

Spellstutter Sprite: A cheap flyer that can be used to counter opponents spells if I have enough faeries on the battlefield (the deck runs 12 faeries). Has 2 cmc for the activation of Disrupting Shoal.

Thassa, God of the Sea: A devotion of 5 blue is pretty easy to reach with this deck, and an indestructible 5/5 can be a much needed blocker with all the other tiny creatures in the deck. The ability to scry each turn is very nice, and making a creature unbloackable can help with ninjutsu or getting in that last couple damage for lethal. Has 3 cmc for Disrupting Shoal if needed.

Disrupting Shoal: The perfect counterspell for the deck in my experience. This card takes advantage of the wide range of cmc in the deck, ranging from 1 to 5. With all the extra card draw, paying two cards to counter 1 can be a good trade off.

Vapor Snag: Slow your enemy down while hurting them, can deal with pesky blockers. In emergencies, can bounce a creature you control if needed.

Smuggler's Copter: Turns your 1/1 flyers into 3/3 flyers that also cause you to loot. Perfect mix of aggro and card draw.
