Zombie Horde

This is the list for the Zombie Horde gametype.

Rules:

Each player starts the game with:

Bandage Emblem that says: ": Target player gains one life. Activate this ability no more than three times per turn. If you have the lowest life total among all players, you may activate this ability no more than five times per turn."

Targeted Explosives artifact token that says: ", Sacrifice Targeted Explosives: Destroy target nonland permanent. Activate this only during the Zombie Horde turn."

Defensive Blast enchantment token that says: "Defensive Blast starts the game with four Power counters. Remove a Power counter: Defensive Blast deals 2 damage to target attacking creature. When Defensive Blast has no Power counters, exile it."

Each player gets four setup turns.

The Zombie Horde gets a turn in between each turn taken by the players. I.E. Player 1 ends their turn after their four setup turns. The Zombie Horde takes its turn. Player 2 then takes their turn. The Zombie Horde takes the next turn.

The Zombie Horde's turn follows this pattern of play:

-Untap

-Reveal X number of cards from the top of its library and casts them. (Zombie Tokens are considered to be cards in this situation.) X is based on the number of rounds that has passed (explained below).

-The Zombie Horde attacks the player with the lowest life total. In the case of a tie, if the players cannot come to a unanimous decision of who will be attacked, the defending player is selected at random.

-The Zombie Horde casts all cards in its hand.

The Zombie Horde is not a player but can be attacked. The Zombie Horde never blocks and takes damage in the form of milling cards off of the top of its library. If the Zombie Horde runs out of cards in its library, it loses the game.

The Zombie Horde is considered to have infinite mana when it comes to paying for effects like Ghostly Prison.

When the Zombie Horde is to select a card from its graveyard (I.E. Gravedigger) it chooses a random card in the graveyard.

When a player dies, the Zombie Horde creates a tapped 6/6 Zombie creature token. It has a mana cost of .

The Zombie Horde plays the following number of cards based on how many rounds have passed. A round is when each player has completed a turn, starting with the player who went first.

0-4: Zero. The Survivors Have Time to Prepare.

5-6: One. The Zombie Horde Approaches

7-10: Two. The Onslaught Begins.

11-20: Three. The Horde Begins to Surround the Survivors.

21+: Four. The Horde Engulfs the Survivors.

Players are encouraged to work cooperatively, however players can attack each other. This is a bold strategy as the Zombie Horde will attack the weakest player, so reducing a player's life total gives the Zombie Horde a target, but will also alienate yourself to the rest of the group. It is fair easier to survive a Zombie Horde together than alone.

Think about it this way, all players have a shotgun. If you shoot somebody in the leg, they won't be able to run away, but it might anger other players and make them try to retaliate.

Alternate Play Modes:

Brothers Til Death: Players cannot attack each other or directly harm each other. You are in this completely together.

Secret Lich: A deck of ten cards is shuffled up and one card is dealt to each player before the game begins. Nine of the cards are basic Human cards. The tenth card is the Lich card. If you are the Lich, your objective is to be the last one standing among the Zombie Horde. You should attempt to remain secret as exposing yourself as the Lich will draw the target of the Humans. Being that there are ten cards, not every Secret Lich game will have a Lich, but players will still have to remain weary of the actions of others.

Ill-Prepared: Players do not start with Bandages, Targeted Explosives, or Defensive Blast. You are alone with your Libraries.
