Description

This a neat little deck I made. You ramp to lots of mana in your pool and win with Exsanguinate or Profane Command.

I'm trying to keep it semi-budget. If you have any suggestions or ideas please let me know! I'm not too familiar with magic cards so I'm sure there are plenty of good ones I missed. Thanks! If you like it please upvote

You've got a lot of 2 CMC cards. I'd swap out Sign in Blood out with Read the Bones. The extra scry 2 is also an added bonus.

read the bones is a good suggestion, i feel like.Gray Merchant of Asphodel seems like a nicer fit over slow avatar of woe even tho this isnt a devotion deck cause u arent milling or sac'ing to pay the low cost despite its high cmc.. not sure what the games look like where you're playing but Victim of Night is ineffective creature removal for main where i play. sign in blood has good emergency life drain. Dismember is good removal on the cheapish. id add one more dash hope. Solemn Simulacrum is better imho than lily for quick land. Bone Splinters.? Gild is ramp+removal. Darkness to stave off aggro while you ramp. Expedition Map is cooler than the talisman.im a newbish player myself, hope my suggestions helped.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I will for sure sub out Sign in Blood for Read the Bones. Gray Merchant of Asphodel seems cool, however so far when I've tried the deck my devotion hasn't too high. Dismember also seems way better than Victim of Night. I'll for sure pick up some of those and some Darkness and try out Gild. Thanks!

I'd run Mind Stone over Pristine Talisman because of the lower CMC, and I'd definitely go for the full playset of Leaden Myr. Right now you're going to have a lot of games in which the ramp doesn't start until turn three or four, and unless your meta is pretty casual that means you'll be dead long before you can start playing those heavy hitters.

I'd also consider Fatal Push, or maybe Go for the Throat, as well as Murderous Cut besides Dismember. Cheap removal is going to be your best way to keep things even if the ramp doesn't come together right away.

When I originally built this deck I tried to get mind stones but they were out of stock at my local store, I'll have to try again because I agree with you as to them being more efficient. Go for the Throat is a great idea, I'll add in some of those with MC as well! Fatal Push is good, but getting a few of those is a little over the budget for this deck. Thanks for those suggestions!

Have you considered throwing in some dark rituals?

I thought about it but generally I don't have a hard time ramping, so I decided against taking a card out to put those in.

Dark Ritual is not modern legal. Good budget removals in black: Doom Blade, Tragic Slip, and Murder. Since you are in mono black some budget discards would go well: Duress, Appetite for Brains and Mind Rot. Could you check and upvote my BW Tokens? Thanks
