Just sharing my hydra deck. Its not super duper by any means, and its not totally hydras, but it often works for me. anyways...... here's the breakdown

obviously there are mostly hydra creatures to abuse the commanders added bonus of making the "X" based hydras bigger and badder! plain and simple. see decklist above for details on the various hydras I have to offer! (not for sale)
its mono green hydras, what'd you excpect?? I need more mana to make bigger hydras, also deck thinning to get to the hydras faster! nyx lotus and Karametra's acolyte are one in the same, free mana for our devotion. theres a bunch of standard search for basic land cards and the migratory greathorn to mutate on top of a hydra raising its base stats (bonus!). If you hadn't noticed the use of Urza's tron lands, those'll help ramp us if we get them, and if not oh well. Sylvan Scrying will get us one (or that sweet rogue's passage instead). Elvish Reclaimer sacs lands to pull lands from the library so tap him thrice and you'll have assembled the trinity! Path of Discovery is in there too to boost creatures and pull lands out of our way when we play a creature. Finally, Tempt with discovery. This will give us an opportunity to get all the fun lands that arent green, if everyone takes the bait, we suddenly have the trio, and maybe even Vesuva for added value! Obviously you want to copy either Rogue's passage, or Urza's tower since it taps for 3. (I know its expensive, but i found it mixed in my cards and it works for me ok!)
I've got Heroic Intervention, Regeneration, and Thwart the enemy. Not a lot, but save em for when you're being pressed with extinction from the game. Also, theres Stonecoil Serpent, protection from multicolored, reach and trample. so he can block any non-mono-commander.
How the hell do people live with top decking! A friend of mine always yells "HEART OF THE CARDS! GUIDE ME!" usually followed by disgruntled obscenities. I hate having to top deck so I always try to add repeatable card draws in there somewhere. My favorite is Ghirapur Orrery, not in this deck but super solid, can help opponents too however. Staff of Nin gives us an extra card every turn, garruks uprising gives us trample and draws when we play almost any of our creatures. Treeshaker Chimera takes a hit, but it lets us swing with our big hitters, and he has a dying bonus (+3 cards). Hell slap that Fruit of the First Tree on there and reap more rewards! (double duty, lifegain and cards!!) Elder gargaroth was a sweet pull from my first ever booster box, lifegain, tokens, or draws from attacks and blocks, super duty card! Regal force is a great draw engine, one time, but it can net several cards.
The ozolith alone is bad-ass in this deck, but not super important. Save all the counters you can and reuse em! kill off a creature with a hydra's growth on it and you'll never lose those counters. Forever have a huge creature!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA....... ok next topic.....
They serve a purpose I swear..... Some people say not to run Evolving Wilds in mono color, but the power of deck thinning is currently beyond their comprehension, i just want that forest out of my way for later on when i need a big baddy. The cabin gets us a food token for life gain, thats it, sac it to the reclaimer for all I care. Tranquil thicket can be a forest, or we can cycle it, CARD ADVANTAGE! Temple of the false gods is some mid game ramp, not handy early on, but taps for 2. Geier Reach Sanitarium, it cycles your cards once per turn, but could help opponents too unless they're a sad little top decker, then its free mill for them. Grin if they despair but be wary of any escape cards, or if you mill Wonder Its an awesome card i use in decks with blue. look it up. moving on!
Hydra's growth doubles the +1/1's every turn, Invigorating Surge adds one, then doubles them once, still good in a pinch. And finally in this short list, the best one of all, KALONIAN MOTHER_F***ING HYDRA!!! doubles the 1/1's on every creature you control each time it attacks!! As a bonus it naturally has trample. We like big things with trample, otherwise they only kill one thing per turn, and we dont have vigilance, so hit hard and make it sting.
Simple strategy, if you cant break thru a million tokens even with all the 1/1's and trample in the world (trust me, it only takes 2 cards to make a million tokens, been there done that, pissed off everyone. worth it) Simply make them unstoppable. The chimera mentioned before forces things to block it leaving the enemy wide open, or slap Lure on something and well, do the same thing to the next creature. Dont forget to take the Rogue's passage whenever possible, but if you cant, or some A-hole red player Merc'd your special land, try the prowler's helm or whispersilk Cloak on for size. same effect as the passage, but less cost to re-equip it, and the cloak adds shroud. Pro tip (fairly obvious) if you want to end the game faster, equip to Hydra Omnivore. it hits everyone, not just one opponent. Throw another equipment on there to maximize results. we'll go over that later.
Garruk came out of the same box as the Elder Gargaroth, and in full art mode! super stoked! anyhow.... He boosts creatures, makes tokens, and can tutor creatures onto the battlefield free of charge (if he survives long enough) Kogla the great big monkey kills off a creature with its ETB, and can kill artifacts/enchantments. Nessian Asp is an honarary hydra because it can get bigger, and it has reach. Sould swallower is too, but it has special conditions. However, once met it triggers every turn! Shifting ceratops is perfect against blue players (mistcutter hydra too) and he has a utility of abilities if you pay for them. Rampaging baloths can net us some sizable tokens that may trigger garruks uprising (dont recall if it works with tokens currently). And then theres earthshaker giant and End-Raze forerunners, same concept, ETB makes creatures get bigger (+3/3, and +2/2 respectively) and hands out trample for the turn. Finally Fierce Empath can pull almost any of these creatures to our hand when he comes into play.
This list is short. Fireshrieker=double strike. Basillisk Collar=Deathtouch+Lifelink Super handy unless the opponent has an Everdawn Champion or something else impervious to pain, but we have ways around that (see previous tabs or use Band Together) Wings of Huberis=flying+unblockable once because who doesnt want a hydra with wings? Alrighty, one last chapter and I'm going to watch my shows.
Was the rest of the deck enough on its own?? No, I need 100 cards dummy! So here's whats missing, being a Sh!thead and making life hard for the other players. AKA Fun stuffs. So we can Nerf anyones commander, or the most threatening creature around at that moment with Kenny's Transformation! No abilities, drops to a 3/3, draw a card, ____, profit! Next up is Whiptongue Hydra. He's so big he literally eats everything with flying even himself if you had Akroma's memorial or something similar on the field (no longer included in this deck for that reason) and he gets +1/1s for each creature destroyed. Next, Ghalta! Its static ability is amazing, most often she costs GG to play, and by then you may even hear your opponent say GG when a 12/12 T-Rex shows up for only 2 greens!! Phyrexian hydra is troublesome, give it double strike and unblockable, boom, dead opponent due to poison counters from infect damage. Moreover, I dropped Grafted Exoskeleton in the mix because who doesnt want a hydra thats oversized and can kill an indestructible creature or end a player?? But wait! There's more!! can you spare 9 mana? Drop Hexdrinker and boost him to max level, unblockable, unkillable, cant be damaged, kind of a dick move right? I'm still not done. My newest hydra is fun stuff, the Capricopian! Just give in infect, and unblockable, and then send it at an enemy, they can pay 2 mana to redirect it to another opponent, then they can do the same, and so on, gaining a +1/1 each time.
I got more tom-foolery to share. Everyones favorite creature type! The "I fit into any deck because I'm colorless tool," its the Eldrazi!! So There's 3 total. One is a simpleton, 10/8 everything must block it, give him the collar and you gained 10 life and killed at most 10 creatures. Next one is Bane of Bala Ged, a 7/5 (little guy) with annihilator 2 (not printed as a keyword, but same effect)(look it up, its a bada$$ ability). And finally (for reals this time) Artisan of Kozilek. Once again, he's sporting annihilator 2 and he doubles as a monster reborn. Thats not an ETB either, thats when you cast it! So let it be countered, you still get back a creature after it resolves.

I hope you enjoyed my commentary throughout all those tabs.i tried to give a quick rundown of what and how while attempting to be amusing at the same time.
