Golgari Graveyard Combo deck.
Modern legal, not necessarily trying to make it god tier deck but it does play as a pretty decent tier 2 deck. From the playtests so far it it fun and relatively consistent.
Appreciate any suggestions/advice with this deck. Still trying to figure out the sideboard.
Yay Eldritch Moon. New cards! Making some changes and taking out the BoPs.
Also gotta give credit where credit is due. Stumbled across sorkargg's Deck and i really liked the Prognostic Sphinx, Molten-tail Masticore and Butcher of the Horde. Also for some sideboard ideas.
Another blooming marsh? Collective brutalities for abrupts? More graveyard protection in sideboard? More hexproof?
How It Works
Abuse Devoted Druids ability to tap to generate mana and untap to generate -1/-1 counters while utilizing Quillspikes ability to get +3/+3 for the turn by removing a -1/-1 counter from a creature you control. Necrotic Ooze is the primary enabler for this because of being able to give evasion (through
Thornling
) and protection (through
Thornling
and
Reaper of the Wilds
). But if the combo can stick on the field, swing away with the Quillspike.
With Devoted Druid and Grim Poppet in the graveyard you can use Necrotic Ooze to place an infinite number of -1/-1 counters on your opponents creatures to wipe their side of the board.
Fauna Shaman and Eldritch Evolution for targeted digging and Lotleth Troll for extra beatsticks as well as the discard ability for setting up the Necrotic Ooze. Grisly Salvage is for filtering through the library and filling up the graveyard.
Inquisition of Kozilek do what they do for everyone else's deck... get that threatening card out of the way.
Abrupt Decay casts an amazingly wide net for removal for a first game.
This deck wouldn't be what it is without Necrotic Ooze. Every creature has an activated ability so even if it dies, it can still fulfill its purpose through the ooze.
