Welcome to Pauper Jund!

This deck is meant to mimic its modern counterpart by playing cheap efficient creatures while disrupting your opponents plans with hand disruption and removal.

The Jund colors give us access to some of the best removal in the format. Terminate is the best kill spell hands down. It’s unconditional removal and kills anything our opponents has. Lightning Bolt is a close second. It efficient as well as modal because it can be used to finish off our opponent by burning out their last few points of life. Chainer's Edict is useful against bogles strategies and can be used again in the late game if the match gets grindy.

Our hand disruption package is pretty light but decent. Blightning is our formats Kolaghan's Command but t always picks the discard a card and deal two damage modes. It helps chip away at or opponents life total while also disrupting their game plan.

Our creature suite is pretty sweet. Pun very much intended ;)

Putrid Leech is our Tarmogoyf. It’s hard to block and can trade up nicely. Phyrexian Rager is just good value putting a body on the board while also replacing itself. Penumbra Spider seems like a weird inclusion but the card is actually insane in the meta game. It absolutely hoses any decks running Delver of Secrets   or Kor Skyfisher. Having mainboard cards that are great against Delver has proven to be a good strategy as it’s the most popular deck in the format and the card is just good on its own. Gurmag Angler is a huge creature that can be cast for one mana once we’ve cast a few spells. This allows us to cast it late game while still leaving mana open to cast a removal spell.

We are running Pulse of Murasa to help out attrition our opponent while also padding our life total. Sprout Swarm is also a great finisher and can be very hard for our opponent to deal with when we recur it late game. If they can’t kill the tokens, the spell gets easier and easier to cast with convoke and it will be impossible for them to catch up.

Any feedback is appreciated!
