What we're looking to do is fairly obvious : just cast lots of Shadowborn Apostles and call in Griselbrand as soon as possible. As soon as he hits the board, we use his card-drawing ability. Then it's just a virtuous circle of calling in demons.

Having a second Griselbrand is nice, since you've got a non-negligible chance of drawing him, meaning you can't actually put him in play.

Mortal Combat is there as an oddball, to throw the adversary off balance from time to time, when a game lingers.

I'm not sure about Xathrid Necromancer, unlike the demons it it playable when drawn and is useful, but maybe I should just commit to the main winning strategy. Being the over-cautious person I am, we'll keep them in for now.

The 6 CMC demons aren't actually that bad, they're somewhat often playable from hand.
