This build of The Scarab God plays like a control deck, prepped to keep the table under control until it goes out of control. The first trigger is incidental more than anything else, but can close out a match if the game drags on innocuously. What we really want is the revival effect of the god.

We rely on 8 mass removal spells to punish opponents who set up early, and then we get to play with their toys in the trash. There is a healthy addition of spot removal and counters to disrupt small set ups, or recoveries. My favorite combo in the deck is to process opponents cards with eldrazi, and then keep casting those exiled cards over and over.

A major point to notice if you read the updates below: I've gone a few different directions with the deck before settling on this build. I'd added an entire Paradox Engine to ramp into absurd amounts of mana despite feeling the card is ban worthy, and played cards I hate like Cyclonic Rift or Rhystic Study under the justification that everyone else uses them so I should too.

After a lot of soul searching I elected to cut cards that make the game painfully un-fun to play. I do think Paradox Engine should be banned, as even in this deck the mild abuse of the card proved to be too powerful, and I'd rejoice if Cyclonic Rift was banned. Rhystic Study might not be ban worthy, but you hate it when players don't pay for an opponents study, hate it when players come after you for having study, and hate it when you have to remember your triggers for study.
