Sideboard

One of My all time favorite decks in MTG is Death and Taxes. So I feel as if with the current meta game consisting of Eldrazi Tron, death shadow variants, and other various decks in modern running about. That we as control players make use of the resources that are available to us...Right? The list I have right compiled right here has served me well.

This deck is one of the very few in which you can keep a one land hand. How you might ask? With Aether Vile of course! This card is powerful and is one of the reasons why the deck can chase any deck. Even if you're stuck on one land but have a aether vile on 2 or 3 you can surprise just about anyone with the multiple "Tech cards" You have available. This means amazing interactions.

INTERACTIONS1.Flickerwisp: Flickerwisp is an interesting card and fits as a playset because of the interactions with the board and other cards it combos with IE (wasteland strangler,Blade splicer, being able to blink creatures away from imminent death) Another interaction is that at the end step you can tap aether vile and exile target permanent until your end step since flickerwisp text reads "Until the next endstep" After this I like to use wasteland strangler ability to take that exiled card put into the opponents graveyard whether its a land, enchantment, artifact, creature, it doesn't really matter you've gained by this interaction hopefully a lot of tempo against your opponent.

2.Leoneon Arbiter: Pretty straight forward you force you and your opponent to pay 2 if we/they want to search through their library. But by using aether vile we can manipulate the stack. So say your opponent pays the 2 colorless to search through their library you can then activate/tap aether vile to put another arbiter into play, since the card resolves their is another pay 2 ability the opponent must pay before they can search their library. Of course your opponent is going to be thrown for a loop/shocked.

  1. Elrazi displacer: Can I Say anything that you don't already know about this card? It's just a really good card but even so I ran 4 but Saw them to often, I figured that Flickerwisp was a much bigger threat than displacer. You can if the displacer is being targeted and have a flickerwisp on the field, you can blink the wisp remove displacer from the game until the next endstep because blinking is different from keeping something until end of turn.

Games and sideboarding1.Storm: Well since storm goes off turn 3 most of the time but has no way of interacting with the board you should try to resolve a thalia, gaurdian of thraben as soon as possible since paying 3 for 3 in a pyretic ritual is significantly worse than having it a 1 for 2 or a 2 for 1. I think this match up depends deeply on your opening hand.Sideboarding is where you bring in thalia's pegasus(Vryn Wingmare) and kor firewalker because...lifegain?

  1. eldrazi Tron:...You're going to lose and just accept your eminent demise unless you resolve a turn 2 leonen arbiter and they don't turn 2 freakin thought-knot seer!

3.Shadow variants: These are actually quite the reasonable match ups as they are an even split it just depends on the opener.

4.control decks: Aether vile your way to victory because they can't counter your spells
