Defend, ramp, giant snakes, etc.

Old deck I've been using for 15 years where the main concept has always been optimizing Snake Basket. I am updating it to be even more playable and more competitive.

This deck f+%king hates Shatterstorm, but I rarely see that played.

1. Coat of Arms + Snake Basket = Big snakes

2. Combo 1 + Akroma's Memorial = Big scary snakes

3. Combo 1 + Prototype Portal = Get consistent snakes into play

4. Combo 1 + Altar of Dementia = Mil them to death

5. Prototype Portal + Mindslaver = control all of their turns

6. Deserted Temple + (Tolarian Academy or Urza's Tower) = Extra mana

7. (Darksteel Forge, Darksteel Plate, Lifeline, Swiftfoot Boots or Spellskite) + (Platinum Angel or Platinum Emperion) = Safety

8. Lifeline + Spellskite = Protect other creatures constantly without having them leave play.

9. Mana Vault + Metalworker = play turn one and get the mana you need to untap if so wish next turn.

10. Platinum Emperion + Mana Vault = No damage
