Two important swaps —Dec. 27, 2015
I decided to take out Hornet Queen and swap it for Scryb Ranger and, most important, to change Sensei's Divining Top for Primordial Sage. The reasons are several:
-I took out the Queen because she never proved herself huseful for her mana cost, I have never had the need to search for her with my tutors and she didn't provide the defense I hoped for. Removing a 7 cmc creature would mean that I'll have to be more careful when using Birthing Pod, but it's a risk I can take.
-I added the Ranger because I think I should never have take her out of the deck. Her activated ability is extremely useful and it's one of the few green card that can be efficiently used at instant speed.
-Top is a very strong card. The problem with this deck is that, apart from 4 fetchlands, it is very difficult to use it properly without spending a lot of mana each turn. Without Brainstorm effects and efficient cheap card drawing, this card loses much of its potential.
-Sage is a card that I removed months ago. This was a mistake: the card provides redundancy with Soul of the Harvest, giving me another way to always have a full hand. Maybe in the future WotC will print some other bomb, but up to that day I think that this card is very valuable.
