When I decided to build this deck, I wanted to build something with a focus on its mana base. The obvious choice was thus to go five coloured. While looking at all kinds of five-coloured archetypes, I discovered this archetype based around non-basic lands and nuking the whole board.

The deck started as a copy of an established list, but after slowly trying the a proxied version of this deck, I gravitate towards a version of this deck that fits my play style, local meta and budget constraints.

WinCons

Inkmoth Nexus and Kessig Wolf Run or Rubblehulk

Because nothing beats swinging turn after turn with a lethal infect flyer. This is the best wincon in my meta so far.

Maze's End

I managed to pull this off once during an actual game. The general idea is to use additional land drops be able to activate Maze's End once per turn while also being able to play other things. There are a couple options to improve this plan. The most obvious would be Amulet of Vigor . Thus Maze and the Gates would ETB untapped which allows for multiple activations per turn and each tutored Gate would search for 1/3 of the activation cost. Another is Burgeoning . One downside of this card is that you quickly end with an empty hand. With Maze's End , you can always activate it in response to the trigger and put it afterwards on the battlefield.

Seismic Assault

I never got in a spot where I could actually use this card. But Seismic Assault would interact nicely with The Gitrog Monster (and Dakmor Salvage )

Manabase

The mana base is quite budget. It works most of the time and is more compact than 10 Duals + 10 Fetches, which is a problem in this deck.

Dark Depths and Thespian's Stage

Creates a "free" 20/20 indestructible flying token. However, setting this up cost a lot of ressources in general and attracts way too much hate. During late game, this might be more interesting, however.

Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle

Similar to Seismic Assault , but either requires many dual lands, Prismatic Omen or Scapeshift .
