Land Destroy

Modern

DillyMilly

Sideboard

This has been a deck I've been dreaming about since I started playing magic. Basically the point is to exploit the weakness of every deck ever made: mana. No deck can function without mana as we've all felt when we're mana starved. That is the most frustrating feeling pulling all your kick ass 5-9 drops when you have two mana right? Well this deck literally kills mana right as you put it out. The trick is to turn lands into an artifact then they're ridiculously easy to kill. So with cards like Liquimetal Coating and Myr Landshaper you can kill lands like it's nothing. Also if you get behind with the land kill and a powerful creature comes out once it's an artifact it's a two mana kill. The point of this deck is to hold back the opponents mana flow, keep them at one or two mana until you pull the card that will truly end them: Splinter. Let's say you have my vampire deck, which is B/W but more heavily on black. So I play a swamp and I have two mana out, and summon a creature. Not a big deal because next turn I turn the swamp into an artifact with Myr Landshaper and the creature into one with Liquimetal Coating. I drop Splinter for four mana and I flashback an Ancient Grudge for one green. Then you no longer will have any black except for what's left on the field for the rest of the game. Obviously there are other cards that give black like Mortuary Mire and such, but most of the land destroy cards are instants so you can destroy them right as the come out. Keep in mind I made this deck on a budget with cards I had and I spent about another $10 on specific cards. I would like to eventually put in Mycosynth Lattice and Darksteel Forge to really put the topper on it. Any ideas, suggestions, etc.?
