Toolbox Horde of Notions

Some aspects the deck focuses on:

DAMAGE

As you would expect from a Horde deck, there is a significant focus on damage output.Horde of Notions is one of the biggest damage factors for the deck. Yes, it is weaker compared to half the creatures in the deck, but it offers much more than damage in the long run. Early to midgame should not pose a problem for the Horde to get out and deal at least 2 attacks. Late game, Horde is immediately outclassed by elementals like Malignus and the Nephilim, and is now placed into a support role rather than the damage dealer.

Damage Support:-Dictate of Heliod: Typical +2/+2 boost, but can flash in for surprise blocking.

-Incandescent Soulstoke: Banner effect for elementals and haste effects in exchange for a sacrifice.-Might of the Nephilim for large bonus damage depending who is the target.

Support

Ramp:

  • Sword of the Animist: Get a land every time you attack. What more could you want?
  • Smokebraider: taps for 2 mana of any color for elemental abilities or elemental casting. YES PLEASE.
  • Chromatic Lantern: Self-explanatory.

Artifact/Enchantment control

  • Wispmare
  • Bane of Progress

Creature Control:

  • Naya Charm
  • Brine Elemental
  • Purity

Engines:

Draw Engines:

  • Soul of the Harvest, Elemental Bond, Temur Ascendancy, Glint-Eye Nephilim all in Tandem with Horde of Notions to recur and trigger the draw triggers

Recursion Engine

  • Buried Alive, Horde of Notions, Dread Return, Avenger of Zendikar in Tandem with Dread Return

The Nephilim are here to offer additional support to the creatures and the boardstate.

-Yore-Tiller, Dune-Brood puts creatures onto the field.

-Witch-Maw for damage output.

-Glint-Eye for card draw and extra damage

-Ink-Treader for some weird plays using spells that target.

Really the deck is designed to throw itself and bash the other players' face in.

The toolbox aspect just came naturally.

Planning to add:

  • Ingot Chewer
  • Dread Return (Fidgeted around with the build and ended up taking it out).
