This deck is all give and take. For the most part, combat is only worthwhile if you have a Zulaport Cutthroat in play or a Filigree Familiar you want to die.

Early on you need to be focusing on getting creatures out and keeping yourself healthy. Cards like Riot Control and Suture Priest will be very useful to this end. While doing this, be sure to slowly chip away at your opponent's life with Suture Priest and Zulaport Cutthroat. If you can get a Thoughtpicker Witch on the field with the Zulaport Cutthroat, that is ideal. Two side benefits of that combo are that you can weed out potential threats and counters before your enemy can draw them, and that you have an engine for sacrificing Filigree Familiar if you draw one, so you can get the full value from the card. In addition, Athreos, God of Passage will allow you to do this combo repeatedly unless the opponent wants spend life to oppose you.

Thoughtpicker Witch is very important to that combo, but keep in mind that you should try to always keep a creature or two extra on field if the opponent is running a deck that ever attacks you at all (so what, 90% of the time?).

Your primary win condition is to get Exquisite Blood in play along with Cliffhaven Vampire, Defiant Bloodlord, or Vizkopa Guildmage. In doing so, you will complete a combo that lasts until the opponent is out of life and all of it is now yours.

So what if you don't draw Exquisite Blood? Well, the way the deck is set up, so long as you continue to stall, you can run the opponent dry eventually. If you can get Vizkopa Guildmage or Defiant Bloodlord into play, then Crypt Incursion and Riot Control can become winning spells.
