Sideboard

A grinder deck that focuses on infect to kill opponents with speed and skill. It focuses around keeping your opponent's board state down while taking them down with infect, mostly with the Viridian Longbow and Pathway Arrows. It has a few infinite combos, set off by many of the cards in the deck.

The creatures:

Glistener Elf handy 1 cost infect that can set the tone turn 1. This creature can be equipped with a staff or bow to give -1/-1 counters to creatures for combo and poison counters to kill.

Plague Myr a useful utility creature, cheap and a mana producer to help early on with a nice splash for infect that helps with the central strategy

Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons the main protagonist of this deck, hapatra delivers on many levels. whole most people find it difficult to land blows with this creature, with this deck your opponent usually won't have much to answer with. Combine that with a wide range of sources dealing infect and giving out -1/-1 counters, and she becomes a steady source of 1/1 deathtouch snakes that can be equipped with the bow or staff to instantly kill opponents creatures, which works well with many other cards in deck.

Obelisk Spider allows the -1/-1 combos to become lethal. He punishes for all those -1/-1 counters you're handing out and the combo Blowfly Infestation + Nest of Scarabs + Obelisk Spider is a game ender.

Necroskitter this card is pretty straightforward, as long as you're putting -1/-1 counters on your opponent's creatures, you'll gain control of them if you can kill them. Well that's the whole idea of the deck! This is one of the most powerful creatures in the deck

Dusk Urchins temporary addition I'm playing with this card to see if it's really worth using. The whole idea of this creature is to attack and block with it until it dies from the -1/-1 counters that it puts on itself. It's a steady way to make -1/-1 counters and if Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker is in play it will return to play at the end of the turn if it kills itself.

Shirei, Schizo's caretaker mainly to use with dusk urchins this creature can make removal a lot harder for opponent's The spells

Viridian Longbow I could go on all day about how secretly broken these kinds of cards are but once you've starred down one equipped to a creature with deathtouch or infect, you'll really understand. This card allows many combos in this deck to go off easier.

Rancor this is such a good card. In this deck it creates threats and can allow your infect more of a punch to get through. It's reusable and abusable

Thornbite Staff a card that works like the longbow, but even better. Everytime you kill a creature you untap your equipped creature, allowing you to kill another if it has deathtouch, or continue winnowing down your opponent with infect

Blowfly Infestation Good card that combos will with the whole deck. Used to combo with x2 swarm of scarabs, or Blowfly Infestation + Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons + Nest of Scarabs for infinite

Nest of Scarabs another solid pay off how this deck works, this card let's you trade all that effort with the -1/-1 counters into rewards of creatures. When you have 2 of these and a blowfly infestation, you simply kill any creature with a -1/-1 counter to create 2 scarabs, then give the -1/-1 counter from blowfly infestation to a scarab, which gives you 2 more scarabs and another -1/-1 counter that you can place for infinite 1/1 insects

Sideboard

Glaring Spotlight just one just in case I see hexproof, which can really slow your progress. Heart-Piercer Bow can be switched out for the thornbite staff when I need to use my mana more wisely. Black Sun's Zenith for matchups when I am not able to keep creatures off the board; it actually has a lot of great uses, but I don't like to use it if I don't have to. Hand of the Praetors a great card to use when facing a deck that can be killed by poison counters; however, it's expensive and is mid to late game, so I don't always need it. Dusk Urchins useful against decks that don't favor creatures but otherwise both too aggressive and not aggressive enough, though drawing a handful of cards is nice
