I revamped my old Zedruu deck. I've been working on this one for a long time.

As far as mana goes, I use creatures such as Burnished Hart and Solemn Simulacrum to ramp, while creatures such as Karmic Guide and Sun Titan allow me to recur them. This is useful because when my opponents finally remove their donated Steel Golem, it can come running right back to them.

The recursion effects may also target some of Zedruu's other friends, such as Gilded Drake and Vedalken Plotter so that they may stick around to advance his lifegain + card draw ability.

Although, recursion isn't enough to defend Zedruu the Greathearted. So I included cards such as Propaganda and Collective Restraint to allow for a "pillow-fort" defense strategy. Adding in dudes such as Wall of Denial, it is often just "not worth it" to attack me. I threw in a Sunforger package just for the extra utility.

If Illusions of Grandeur can't secure a win, backup plans include Insurrection and Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre. I chose Ulamog specifically because he allows for a layer of mill-protection (which is nice in my meta). At the same time, it allows for a Mistveil Plains-like effect. This is a supplement to Sunforger.

Welp, that's my take on Zedruu. Any input + constructive criticism is always appreciated.

NOTE: I'm trying to avoid "instant-kill" cards such as the donation of Transcendence to a player above twenty life. I know these exist and I have chosen not to use them. They seem like the best way to ruin a fun game.
