Not Quite Mill - A Mill Deck for Realists

While I do love my first mill creation, Phenax, God of Mill, it was a simple comment from Son-of-Mace, recommending Sign in Blood that first got me thinking of a very different, slightly more all-in approach. Whilst this deck is my own creation, I tip my hat to Son-of-Mace for the spark that spurred a second take on my favorite deck!

The scoop:

This deck is not here to mill for the kill, but to remove all of your opponent's answers and threats. We do so by giving them a seemingly endless amount of card draw, then forcing tons of discard to trigger Waste Not like there's no tomorrow.

The draw package;

Sign in Blood forces them to draw as well as take 2 to the face

Damnable Pact same as above, potentially for epic amounts. This tasty addition has the potential to close out the game

Dictate of Kruphix gives both you and your opponent cards for days, especially fun with multiples resolved

The discard package;

Despise is about as clean as it gets. While on a narrower scope than Thoughtseize, I personally prefer not chipping away at my own life total. Each creature they discard nets you a 2/2 Zombie, per Waste Not resolved. Not too shabby for a single black mana!

Mind Rot doesn't allow you to choose what is discarded, but with you whittling away at the their threats before they can cast them, chances are they'll choose to discard spells (possibly land if they've hit their drops) over creatures in the hopes of resolving a creature or two. This means they'll be handing you free card draw or possibly free mana

Dark Deal is king here, especially if they have a large hand and you have one or more Waste Nots resolved

All the rest;

Fate Unraveler is here to make each and every card draw sting the opposition. Another beauty with multiple resolved

Hero's Downfall is a card we all know. Premium removal at it's finest

Void Snare opperates as pseudo-removal, as we can simply force the discard after their creature (or planeswalker) has been returned to their hand

Voyage's End also operates as pseudo-removal at instant speed, but is restricted to creatures

Disperse instant speed bounce of any nonland threat or combo piece

Murderous Cut is ridiculously simple to cast here, as you'll find your graveyard filling quickly with used spells

If all goes well, Waste Not will start pumping out 2/2 Zombies to give you board presence out of nowhere, giving you card draw as well as the extra mana to cast them. Firing off multiple spells per turn can start happening long before your opponent has a clue what to do. It's possible to go infinite off of discard spells and Waste Not if your opponent is running a creatureless deck. Match-ups against B/U Control are quite favorable!

My arch nemesis, The Sideboard, has shaped up nicely due, in no small part, to the recommendations of Pal00ka and bellz76.

Give it a Playtest and tell me whatcha think. Constructive criticism, +1s and recommendations are always welcome and appreciated!
