Remember that unless you really get lucky with your shadows packs the whole investigate thing is not a viable build-around. G/W humans is even stronger now, and as other have pointed out color fixing is REALLY bad in this set, stay in 2 colors unless you are making a minor splash for a something really powerful like Tamiyo, Field Researcher, in which case most of your fixing will have to come from your shadows packs in the form of things like the taplands and maybe a somewhat awkward Loam Dryad. Black and red have some really great removal at common and uncommon, green removal is decent but not as great as last set, and white removal will pretty much all have to come from your shadows packs because it basically doesn't exist in this set.

other rules and mechanics stuff to keep in mind: meld is not an optional ability and there might be times where you don't want to do it. I would say given that Graf Rats + Midnight Scavengers is the only pair that is common they are the only ones you would likely see in limited, but if you can get it to chittering host its a huge threat. emerge is an interesting way to ramp into bigger threats as well but for both of these mechanics there are big setup costs and if your emerge creature is bounced you just got effectively 2-for-1 'ed if you cast it for emerge and you might not have the mana to replay it, same applies for melded creatures. Powerful effect but play carefully against opponents with blue (or black) control.

Although R/B madness is still a thing, the limited environment looks to be slower than last time so things like 7 drop creatures should be significantly more playable this time.
