Love Meren. I see where you are trying to go with this deck. Personally am not the biggest fan.

Here are some of the issues I see.Rude Awakening -- Expensive CMC for effect.Font of Fertility -- weak 3 CMC ramp card. Check out Cultivate, Rampant Growth, or Kodama's Reach for better examplesCall the Scions -- the effect does little to better your cause in the long run and little in the short game.Duress -- most single target spells besides spot removal are good in EDH. This is because seeing a threat and removing is legit. Guessing at who has the bomb is not. This card could just wiff.

Creatures are quite a wreck. Meren wants ETB/LTB or immediate effect cards.Frightcrawler, Graverobber, Heir of the Wilds, Kessig, Leafcrown, Lifespring Druid, Noxious Hatchling, Stalker Hag, Springing Tiger, Oran-Rief Invoker (just burn this card), and Odious Trow all seem useless for Meren. Do they have a place in a deck? Yes, possibly, maybe, hmm...this is besides the point.

The options for good to great creatures is HUGE in B/G. Examples ranging from budget to not so budget go to cards like Wood Elves Yavimaya Elder Spore Frog (powerhouse he is), Rune-Scarred Demon, Sidisi, Undead Vizier. Nekrataal, and get this card Gray Merchant of Asphodel. What a game changer/ender he can be.

If this is to far from what youo want to do with the deck then by all means keep going with your plan and someone will likely have an opinion on how to make that work. On a general level...

You may have too many cards that benefit on a creature dying relative to your ability to support them with a steady creature supply. This is impacted by several areas of deck construction: the mana curve of your creatures alone, your ramp suite, and the synergies you're trying to get into play. When I look at your list I see a lot of nasty synergies that soft-lock a table - but they can require 20+ CMC of cards in play, making you extremely weak to even light disruption.

Your limited supply of tutors in the broadest sense - Sidisi, Undead Vizier, Green Sun's Zenith, Jarad's Orders, Buried Alive, and kinda-sorta Evolutionary Leap - means you're at higher risk of "bad luck" games where you just aren't drawing what you need. All but one of these only tutor for creatures, too, so you're SOL if you need access to any other card type.

I think you're a little light on ramp right now compared to the number of high CMC bombs you want to play - 20% of your deck is 5 CMC or above. While playing Meren as our general makes us think we've got unlimited basic land searching from cards like Wood Elves, each time we do that is a turn we have both Meren in play, with enough experience counters, and at a cost of not recurring a value creature or removal.

More recursion, more grave-filling. Meren can get one creature out of your yard each of your turns if she's in play but when is one enough? And what if she gets hated out? You do have some recurring creatures or fodder enchantment but these fund your sac outlets rather than being replacements for the bombs sitting in your graveyard waiting for their turn. I see Sheoldred, Whispering One and Victimize filling this role but unless I'm not seeing it there's nothing else. Consider adding cards like Corpse Dance, Life/Death, and Reanimate. With all of your ways to sac creatures you can easily avoid the exile effect on Corpse Dance and having buyback makes it an all-star. It single-handedly won my last game with my Meren deck.

As for specific cards...

Without much (land) tutoring you're going to find it difficult to assemble the Cabal Coffers + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth synergy. I'd either cut Coffers or include things like Sylvan Scrying, Crop Rotation, or more unconditional tutors so you have a better chance of getting both in play.

Has Vraska the Unseen paid off for you? My impression is that she's an overcosted removal spell in a lot of games.

You're playing Wood Elves but not Farhaven Elf. At the very least swap for the Farhaven but consider running both based on your number of ramp cards. I'd aim for around 10.

The stax combo of Tangle Wire and Smokestack feel out of place.

Treasured Find out for Regrowth. Identical effect, doesn't exile so it's possible to recur, cheap to buy, and slightly easier mana fixing.

Your 5 and 6 spots are somewhat packed, and there are a lot of great 4-drops out there, for instance: Birthing Pod, Solemn Simulacrum Disciple of Bolas Dread Return. Which also ties in with you needing more ramp and card draw, consider Phyrexian Arena and something like Grim Haruspex for draw and I would also get rid of bad ramp like Diligent Farmhand and add either Wood Elves or Farhaven Elf depending on your pref. and needs. You really need to 'kill some darlings' to add 5 more land. And for Meren to work well, you need some more consistent and cheap sac outlets like: Altar of Dementia, Ashnod's Altar, Carrion Feeder, High Market, Viscera Seer. Remove Corpse Hauler, Flesh Carver and substitute Ogre Slumlord with Awakening Zone or From Beyond. You really need some independent (unlike Slumlord) token-makers. These are cheeper, can be utilized as ramp as well and aren't vulnerable to creature removal.GL

I will suggest you Palinchron, it's infinite mana with Riku of Two Reflections or Deadeye Navigator, then first draw creature you find it's infinite draw and hi Purphoros, God of the Forge GG!!! Farhaven Elf put a land tapped but not oly Forest like Wood Elves.....bha.... You don't have too few creatures so you may play Opposition, i love this card, if you put it next to Seedborn Muse you can't lose. Me too, in Animar, Soul of Elements played Garruk, Caller of Beasts but i run it for Domri Rade but it depends where you play.... never considered Mercurial Chemister? more easy to play than Arcanis the Omnipotent, draw 2 cards it's true but fire on the creatures.these are opinions, i like the deck idea dont get me wrong!

Why is Presence of Gond in here? I don't see Midnight Guard or anything that makes it particularly good. I may just be missing it, I guess, but I feel like that's $1.30 you could put toward other card slots.

Why Skyward Eye Prophets? Wood Elves is $.12 at TCGPlayer low. Sakura-Tribe Scout is $.20 on TCGPlayer low. I just don't see much point in a 6 mana, "Occasionally get a land" guy with a terrible body for that mana cost. Pilgrim's Eye seems meh too, it may be better to just run Nature's Lore, which has versions as low as $.48. Alternatively, Rampant Growth is even cheaper and grabs any basic- but at least these actually ramp.

Also, Bant Charm may be worth a look over afterlife ($.51). Multiple relevant modes over the course of the game is pretty nice.

Greenwarden of Murasa would probably be better off as Reveillark. Stronger card (you already have Eternal Witness to recur noncreature cards), and enables an infinite combo with Mirror Entity, Karmic Guide and any creature with an ETB and power less than 2 (like Acidic Slime. For example). If you need an explanation of the combo, I can oblige, but I'll save that for if it's actually needed for me to type it all out.

Anyway, nice job. Hope these recommendations are cards you may like.

I'm going to make suggestions by card type.

Artifacts: Thought Vessel is good, Golgari Signet is better. Also, you might consider Golgari Keyrune, Golgari Cluestone and/or Commander's Sphere.

Creatures: cut Bloodthrone Vampire, Korozda Guildmage, Satyr Wayfinder, Phyrexian Plaguelord, Wall of Blossoms and Viridian Emissary. (-6) Add Quirion Elves, Wood Elves/Solemn Simulacrum, Skirsdag High Priest, Elves of Deep Shadow, Sifter of Skulls, Reaper of the Wilds and/or Catacomb Sifter. Basically, use cheap creatures to speed up your mana base.

Enchantments: cut Dark Prophesy, Diabolic Servitude and Fallen Ideal (-3). Add Dance of the Dead, Necromancy, Unhallowed Pact, Parallel Lives, From Beyond (Yes, I'm serious about that one), Awakening Zone and/or Underworld Connections.

Instants: cut Grisly Salvage and Sudden Reclamation. (-2) Add Malicious Affliction and Guul Draz Assassin.

Sorceries: cut Mulch. Add Rise of the Dark Realms.

Lands: Cut Forest x2 and Swamp x1. Add Overgrown Tomb, Svogthos, the Restless Tomb and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. Take your time with the lands.

Alright, just to cover the two guild walkers. Vraska the Unseen isn't great in EDH and does not fit very well here. Garruk, Apex Predator, however, would be a really good fit. Liliana Vess would be as well. Any questions, just tag me ;)

Looks pretty solid, but I think a few tweaks can make it much stronger and more consistent.

I run an elf tribal variant that I've gotten a lot of success from (Ezuri's Elves of Progress, if you want to take a look.) I've played a good 30 games or so with it, and this is what I have found:

  • As alecm said above, you will want more ramp than this. And probably two more lands. Prophet of Kruphix done got her ass banned recently, so there's an automatic slot for another land.

  • Bident of Thassa is strictly better than Bred for the Hunt. There's nothing wrong with running both, but if you are going to pick one, I'd pick the bident. Yes, it's hit by both artifact and enchantment removal, but if you keep it in hand until you can get a good trigger in one turn (or just drop it on turn 3), you won't be disappointed.

  • People will want you dead. I use Tangle and Arachnogenesis for this.

  • The new Nissa, Voice of Zendikar is freaking awesome.

  • Vigor is absolutely preposterous if it's in the budget.

As for what you might take out:

Blessed Reincarnation is not spectacular. I can see how it could be a very fun card, but the synergy is limited and very conditional.

Mystic Genesis just costs too much for what it does, in my opinion.

Pentad Prism is also a little bit meh. I'd take a simple Wood Elves or Farhaven Elf over this any day.

Silent Arbiter probably made more sense in your Vorel deck. It's not terrible here, but I usually find with Ezuri that I want to swing with more than one creature. It's also nerfing several cards you have in here, such as Bred for the Hunt.
