your deck kinda vanished for a bit when I was first writing this comment, there was a bit more depth in when I first typed this out, but me more tired now than before lol.

Now maindecking Duress would be rather good vs tier 1 lists outside of humans.

Bojuka Bog is rather good as a means to graveyard hate for a deck that still wants access to it's graveyard for delve.

Striped Riverwinder or Whirlwind Adept could be viable wincons for the topend to deal with single target removal from slower decks.

Spreading Seas is about the only land hate spell that's viable to fight tron and other decks with strong lands at common.

Peek could be an interesting option vs opt, the information of your opponent's hand could be vastly more important than a scry 1.

Logic Knot is rather good of a counterspell with a delve theme.

Hieroglyphic Illumination a pretty good card advantage spell used by usually w/u control, early game it fuels delve, late game you can gain card advantage at instant speed.

Update: Added Sideboard of one card

In case I ever make a leather deckbox for this deck, I'll need a sideboard of minimum 1 card, to proxy shuffle my Commander into the deck if needed (in leather deckboxes, I keep Commanders in hard sleeves)

Added Whirlwind Adept, a decent Prowess KTK common I had sitting around. Might even work in the deck, as it's a spellslinger. (NB Riku's copies don't count)

Metheawesome you know I might just do that I tested it with Efreet Weaponmaster and it did ok the extra +3/+0 on my Whirlwind Adept was nice but if I kept Cunning Breezedancer and added Ojutai, Soul of Winter that would have been optimal. Thanks for that dude I'm also going to add Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest, a halfset of Jeskai Charm, Jeskai Ascendancy, Jeskai Banner and Monastery Siege

I find this deck struggling against an Izzet or 1-damage spell strategy. Sure, Boiling Earth wrecks this deck in the mid-to-late game, as does Twin Bolt. However, I can typically rebound from a single board sweep, and life gets easier if I have Pulse of Murasa to reclaim lost creature cards.

Therefore, I think more ways to use tokens at instant-speed may nullify the board sweep against me. I struggle, because if I have Collateral Damage, I also need at least one creature to sacrifice. Holdout Settlement works surprisingly well, allowing my soon-to-die creature to tap itself for color-specific mana, and then die. Sacrificial outlets also destroy a lot of hate targeted against my tokens.

I now wonder if cheaper direct damage is the best option. While Plummet will still be a good sideboard option, I think at least TWO copies of Elemental Uprising are needed in the main deck. This spell is cheap, instant-speed, and almost functions like a situational 'fight' spell, especially against hexproof Whirlwind Adept. Alternatively, a 4/4 with haste that must be blocked may allow for a wide rush with remaining tokens.

I am asking for more help with deciding about to do with my direct damage suite. Should I focus more on sitting behind my wall of tokens with life gain spells and Impact Tremors and direct damage to the dome, or instead focus on destroying creatures to outrace my opponent? Thanks in advance!

ComixWriter I cut black because I thought it didn't contribute to what I want in this deck. The deck idea was inspired by Melissa DeTora's article, not a copy of it. I wanted the deck to be make about casting big things for free and less about controlling the board, though that is still necessary or I will get overrun by any deck. I will replace the Fiery Impulses with something like Stasis Snare or Silkwrap, because they can kill more things. I will consider Treasure Cruise. I think that Whirlwind Adept, being only one mana less than Narset, is a bit too slow if I'm trying to drop more creatures early. I will test out some Seeker of the Ways.

The extra turns are used to get more Narset activations, cast more spells, and activate Planeswalkers more. I believe that is what Takin' Turns does with its extra turns, as well.

This deck is both a rough sketch and a casual deck. I know what a sideboard is, I just haven't included one yet.

Thank you for the lengthy and in-depth critique of my deck that you have provided, it is exactly the kind of comment I want on my decks.

There seems little I can add to this deck, because it is already based on an existing deck with pull strategy guide on tcgmagic.com.

Since you reference the netdeck in your post description, I assume you must have read it, and ignored the addition of black as too cumbersome. I fear you lose too much by cutting black. Sure, you get extra turns...to do what, exactly? Taking' Turns as written for Standard address the things a professional playtester discovered, and you didn't take their advice- I don't know what help you hope to get.

I do like your additional inclusion of the monk. The soonest she can come online is Turn 6, right? You have no other ways to stay alive until she is cast in the latter mid-game. I fear you rely too much on Fiery Impulse to stop an early aggressive game. I wonder if Whirlwind Adept has a home in a frequently-casting deck theme? Treasure Cruise needs some love, especially if casting and dumping spells in a graveyard (yes, some cards exile, but most do not exile). Why no sideboard- serious competitive decks often have a sideboard, since they face various threats.

I would like to see how this deck evolves to address the exclusions of black cards, and what suitable replacements you include. Play and be well!
