Some thoughts:

  • I don't think this kind of deck warrants using Master Transmuter , as there just aren't enough big-costing cards in here to make it worthwhile.

  • I also see an issue where the big costing cards you do have, don't do a lot and are quite slow. I'd personally ditch Sharding Sphinx , Spell Swindle , Tezzeret, Artifice Master , Myr Turbine , Myr Battlesphere at a minimum, but also seriously consider ditching most of your other cards with CMC 4 or higher - modern is a fast format and your deck doesn't look well suited to stalling the game out.

  • I would recommend grabbing 4x Whir of Invention . They let you run a more tool-boxy build, grabbing whatever artifact you need to help out your current situation. While this will let you run many 1-ofs in the deck, I suggest still trying to get full playsets of the cards you want your deck to focus around (like Sai, Master Thopterist , for example).

  • Try and leave sideboard cards in the sideboard. The likes of Dispeller's Capsule won't do anything in a lot of matchups, so just bring it in when you'd actually need it. Padeem, Consul of Innovation feels a bit like a sideboard card also (a lot of artifact decks instead run Welding Jar mainboard to save them from game-one hate).

  • I would heavily recommend running 4x Thopter Foundry and 2x Sword of the Meek _(or 3x of each). _ The combo of pumping out thopters seems to be what your deck wants to do, and these cards make doing it super easy.

  • Just looking through the rest of the cards you have, the following list are other things I think you should look at ditching for better options at some point: Dragon Throne of Tarkir , Ojutai Monument , and Whirlermaker . As far as other cards to consider adding to this deck, I think you're in desperate need of interaction, so I would suggest Dispatch and Mana Leak to get you through the early-to-mid game grind

Hey, fellow 'Laddie brewer! Stopping by to suggest some ideas to your deck.

It looks like you're mostly trying to go wide with tokens, and occasionally punish with big bois, or all the big bois. I noticed you have several token makers, but not enough big bois to make tokens of, or copy makers themselves. In this scope, allow me to suggest a few cards and possible pieces you could directly replace. These suggestions are rather minor as I don't want to change the scope of the deck entirely, as it should still be yours. :)

  • Trading Post in for Whirlermaker : 4 mana and tap to make a dude is too expensive. A better option is to put in good ol' Trading Post as it makes a 0/1 goat for 1 mana and 1 life. Remember that life is a resource too, and at 40 in EDH, 1 life won't make that much of a difference. Besides, Trading Post does it all! Draws a card, recurs artifacts, creates tokens, and gains life. Excellent piece for any artifact deck.
  • Cyclonic Rift for Aether Gale : This is the first big money upgrade I'm suggesting. I understand if you want to maintain a budget, but consider splurging on a CyRift if you see the chance to trade for one or come across some extra dineros. It bounces EVERYTHING except for your big bad bois, so you can swing out and win.
  • Chaos Warp : Izzet suffers from the ability to remove enchantments or exiling in general (other than very few spells like Lava Coil or Curse of the Swine , two cards you also may want to consider as removal), so having a card that can hit anything is imperative. Chaos Warp at $2ish does just that. At instant speed! Oh, I'm about to get swung at with an unblockable Blightsteel Colossus ? Nope that noise. They've got Propaganda or Sphere of Safety ? Tuck it away! Thus, your chances to win increase even more. Like your number of tokens.
  • Twinflame : Cheap copy maker, and you can make even more copies of more things, but only one is enough for Laddie to create an army. It's a bulk-ish card so it shouldn't hurt the budget.
  • Desolation Twin : Another bulk card that makes a token on entry?? Excuse me?? Yup. Gives you a free 10/10 token on arrival that Brudiclad would like to use as a template. No annihilator, though, but an army of 10/10s is NOTHING to laugh at.
  • Master of Etherium : A cheap, stronger, yet more vulnerable alternative to Darksteel Juggernaut. For three mana, its P/T is also equal to the number of artifacts you control, but it gets better. Other artifacts you control get +1/+1, meaning that EVERY Master of Etherium buffs the rest, giving you effectively twice as much power as the same number of Darksteel Juggernauts. And the cheap mana cost means you can pay to make a token of it on the same turn, then swing out with 10 tokens with 19/19. That's death. lol
  • Flameshadow Conjuring : This card's worth a couple of bucks, but it's an enchantment that makes a token of anything you play for red. One mana. That's it. With Etherium Sculptor out, you would pay full price for a big beater AND a token of it that Lad is going to replicate. This card sees plenty of hate, so be way of when you play. Also, the token goes away at end of turn, so make
  • Dance of Many : Old, cheap enchantment (costs UU to play) that makes a copy of ANYTHING on the board. Has a UU maintenance cost at the upkeep, but it doesn't matter if you already made other copies and swung with them all.

I invite you to look at (my build)[http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/brudiclad-the-big-bad-boi-builder/] and compare lists for ideas. Again, I didn't suggest many changes because I don't want to take away from the deck; it should still be yours. Lemme know what you think of these changes!

Really neat deck. I could maybe see a Whirlermaker or Pentavus in there somewhere.

I'd take out the Whirlermakers for... anything, really. Maybe a few cheap artifact creatures to chump-block aggro decks and trigger Marionette Master? Animation Module doesn't seem too good in the deck, as the only counters you can put on your creatures are on Marionette Master. 4 of them seems too much. Since the deck feels slow, maybe you could add a cheap creature that synergizes with artifacts, or artifact creatures, to threaten control players and make them waste removal, and block aggro decks' early attacks. Since you're probably planning on surviving into the late game, some more removal could be good. Black has several options, such as Vraska's Contempt or Fatal Push, or Walk the Plank and Hour of Glory if you want more budget options.

So, I definitely would not sell your Ugin. However, while he is a planeswalker that fits in mana decks, mainly Atraxa, he would not be viable in this. This deck is already budget, so let me breakdown some of the issues. Mana ramp is good in this deck, but it is not great. You are going to want to be wise with your mana as when(not if) your commander is killed and you have to bring him back, you are going to want to equip as much of your artifacts as you can as fast as you can. Voltron is tricky as if your offenses are suddenly disabled it is very hard to survive for more than a couple turn cycles. Ugin costs 8, which might not seem like a lot of mana in commander, but it is when you might need to use that mana in a pinch if something disables your win con and puts you back a couple turns.

Secondly, Ugin is a great card one of my favorite walkers, but there is a reason that he is. He is very powerful, and will declare you as a threat to the table. It will change the game from Commander to Archenemy.

Finally, this deck was built on a budget, so there were some areas I was forced to cut short on. one of those would be defense, and since this deck focuses mainly on winning ASAP with my commander, I do not have enough chump blockers to protect planeswalkers. If you were able to u the budget, throw some more expensive eldrazi in there, maybe something that can pump out creatures like Whirlermaker, you might be able to do it, but unless you are determined enough to make this work that you invest more money into the deck, I would not advise including this fine dragon planeswalker.

I really appreciate you consulting me on this, makes me feel like I actually know what I am doing. I just finished constructing this deck last week and it plays beautifully. Like I said, the only thing I would improve on it, planeswalker or no planeswalker, is by adding chumo blockers and/or more defensive creatures.

Animation Module doesn't seem like a great fit here, the only thing that gets +1/+1 counters is the Angel of Invention. Whirlermaker while being a good source of making tokens over and over again, its not really fast enough. Making a 1/1 flyer turn 4 isn't too great with all these dinosaurs going around. With only 5 artifact spells, Efficient Construction also doesn't seem that great. Servo Exhibition while only working once is a bit faster for producing the tokens. also, if you're going to use Release the Gremlins on yourself, something like Servo Schematic gives you a bit more value. If you're sticking to Jeskai I'd say pull out the Efficient Constructions and the animation modules for servo schematics and servo exhibitions. I personally think you could do a lot better in a token-aristocrat deck with an esper build, since you have access to Hidden Stockpile, Tezzeret the Schemer (Since it seems like artifact tokens like servos are best if you're going wide),Tezzeret's Touch, Marionette Master, Bontu the Glorified (for aristocrat style), and Oketra the True since you're going wide with servos. Mostly stuff that can generate tokens/ artifacts and help you hurting your opponent for killing your little servos or just saccing artifacts in general..

you could use Mirage Mirror instead of your Saheeli's Artistry. It's a little more versatile copying a module or creature or even an opponents creature or artifact/enchantment. It's good to setup your infinte combo. I find Walking Ballista to be another win condition and you could replace your Whirlermaker with it - I think it is more versatile and doubles as removal, direct damage to the face and also a fantastic sink for your counters.
