Weaver of Currents Discussion

Arcaneful on Kruphix and his Eldrazi Friends

Okay that's a reasonable thing to say haha.

I figured land ramp was better though, since my meta runs a lot of removal (Didn't mention this earlier, sorry) but I feel I should still run maybe some things that tap for more than one such as Gyre Engineer , Weaver of Currents , maybe even something like Gyre Sage to abuse the fact I have a ton of big creatures. BOP probably too since it taps for all my colors.

Alright- so, in a deck with access to Green, creature ramp is amazing. I'm not good at suggesting WHAT can be replaced, so take my suggestions with that in mind.

Llanowar Elves , Birds of Paradise , Boreal Druid , Fyndhorn Elves , Elvish Mystic , Gyre Engineer , and Weaver of Currents are not Eldrazi, but all can help get Kruphix out earlier. With Seedborn Muse, you can keep tapping them to add more mana to your pool.

What Pikobyte said. But for specific suggestions, I'll list them below.

- Brood Monitor isn't super strong in EDH. Not necessarily a must-cut, but one I'd definitly keep in mind. - Izoni, Thousand-Eyed is super powerful, but the mana requirements are pretty tough in a three-color deck. - Nefarox, Overlord of Grixis doesn't do much for your game plan. You have much better ways for forced sacrifice. - Scribe of the Mindful should probably be cut, unless you really want to keep the amount of Instant/Sorcery spells high. - Sphinx of Foresight , while interesting, is just kinda... meh. - Thallid Soothsayer is okay, but there are better sac outlets available to you. - Verdant Force is far too expensive and slow for what it does. - Weaver of Currents doesn't produce colored mana, which is important for a three-color deck.
- Curse of Disturbance isn't great, and not something you want to spend your T3 play on. - Underworld Connections could be cut in favor of better draw spells. Mystic Remora or Rhystic Study would be great here. -I respect the Exquisite Blood / Sanguine Bond combo, but without both cards you're stuck with a 5 CMC enchantment that doesn't do much for you.
- Haunted Fengraf and Rogue's Passage are both underwhelming, I'd look at replacing them with lands that produce colored mana or have stronger utility.
- Cast Down , Doom Blade , Incubation / Incongruity , Price of Fame , and Vona's Hunger are all decent removal, but again, you should prioritize permanents with those effects. - Dismiss and Unwind both seem like they're thrown in here. There's not much use for them. There are even creatures that can counter spells. - Thought Scour is worse than Stitcher's Supplier in this deck.
Nothing specific to replace here, but I would look into better (cheaper CMC) mana rocks and other value engines.

I will suggest only one expensive card: Doubling Cube .

Untap effects go great with Kruphix. These include cards like Seedborn Muse , Victory Chimes , Quest for Renewal , and Murkfiend Liege . Prophet of Kruphix is banned in EDH (for good reason) so you can't have him.

You said it's a ramp deck. You can never underestimate the power of mana dorks. Here's a few: Llanowar Elves , Elvish Mystic , Fyndhorn Elves , Arbor Elf , Birds of Paradise , Gyre Engineer , and Weaver of Currents . I also like Karametra's Acolyte and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx . Having lots of creatures tap for mana synergizes well with cards like Quest for Renewal .

There's also your artifact ramp. Thran Dynamo , Worn Powerstone , Sol Ring , Everflowing Chalice (please use this), Gilded Lotus , Dreamstone Hedron , Simic Signet , and Hedron Archive all tap for or more. And randomly you have Frontier Siege which works well in the deck. So does Growing Rites of Itlimoc  Flip. Speaking of lands, I like Mosswort Bridge .

Mana sinks. I would consider Planar Bridge , Genesis Wave , Omniscience , Archetype of Endurance , Endbringer , Avenger of Zendikar , Rite of Replication , and Arcanis the Omnipotent to name a few. Draw X cards are great effects, with Stroke of Genius and Pull from Tomorrow involving the fewest symbols.

I love ramp decks. I hope yours goes well.

Here are some cuts you can consider:

All the cards I mentioned above in EDH doesn't make too much of an impact and not good enough in a multiplayer game. I saw a lot of pump cards but the thing is once you use it will be over, in a 1v1 situation those cards can be considered but you are going for a multiplayer game, so you want to have longer lasting effects or worldly buffs than single shot pumps.

You can start by trimming out those cards first, and also changing the mana base a bit as 30 lands it fairly low for a deck thats not akin to storm or combo, you can up it to at least 34-36 lands, I would say 36 for now until you start refining the deck.

Hope that helps!

Hey, how you doing?

I've got a Kruphix, God of Horizons list that was originally a sea-monsters themed list before turning into its current iteration. Just thought I'd throw in my two-cents.

I suppose I have to ask - no Sol Ring? Seeing as how its a cheaper Weaver of Currents, hence faster ramp that's (in theory) more difficult to remove, seems to make sense.

Some creatures I'd recommend for flavour/strategy: Thing in the Ice  Flip - perhaps a bit iffy to put in your list currently, but I can't think of anything more sea-horror-esque than a creature frozen in the ice.

Stormtide Leviathan - this combos nicely with Archetype of Imagination, as well as being a huge sea monster and a potentially defensive card, as well as offensive, if needed.

Dark Depths - whilst potentially pretty hefty on the budget, the flavour of the card is again stellar for this deck.

Thespian's Stage - Pairs with Dark Depths nicely as well as Arixmethes (did a bit of research into the rulings, pretty sure that works the way we want it to).

Boundless Realms - this might be a good shout for some mid-to-late game ramp.

Nice deck!

I would cut the Weaver of Currents for a playset of Utopia Sprawl. It works good with Arbor Elf

I dont think you need Weaver of Currents you have plenty of ramp without it. Also only 5 of your 18 creatures triggers Rhonas, all of which are legendary, this is actually gonna end up being very slow, Id take the blue from your creature base and use it strictly as a support color. Run a playset of the mystic and add in Steel Leaf Champion as well as Ghalta, Primal Hunger add in a playset of Woodland Stream and run 10 Forests, 5 Islands, and only 1 of the Zhalfirin Void. I would replaceCurator's Ward with Song of Freyalise it will go more work for you more consistently.
