Slenn on Glory to Old Phyrexia

ShaDoWz_6677 thanks for your suggestions, however the concept I came up with is a little bit different. You could see the deck as Yawgmoth commanding an army of phyrexians, using his own personal devices and creations and everything the phyrexians are known for.

Powerstones were a creation from Glacian, not Yawgmoth and The Weakstone and Mightstone were used to keep Phyrexia away from entering Dominaria and more connected to Urza and Mishra's War and later Urza to keep him alive while being stuck inside his eyes, in the rest of the story. Glistening Oil may fit the theme a bit more, since it's what the phyrexians used to spread their corruption and to compleat other creatures into their own.

Phyrexian Portal looks cool flavorwise and would fit the theme but which card should I remove from my deck now?

You will also want the Weakstone and Mightstone since they were used as Urza's eyes. And a Worn Powerstone to represent the lore part of Gate to Phyrexia since a powerstone with the same charge as one in Phyrexia was used to keep the Gate open.

Phyrexian Portal is another card I'd look into.

Hello! I saw your post on my page. To be honest, it's hard to evaluate a deck without a good description. I can give some general advice about playing mono-red, but without some more info I can't really give specific advice.

Direct damage in red is HARD. For creature removal, you could go with Skred if you move all of your lands to Snow-Covered Mountains. Extraplanar Lens and Blood Moon are fantastic in mono-color as well. Weakstone and perhaps Static Orb or Winter Orb could lock down your opponents while you try to draw into enough burn to close out the game?

Damage doublers like Dictate of the Twin Gods or Furnace of Rath can be risky, but they DO make your spells do double damage and can stack with other damage increases.

You aren't playing Vandalblast or Descent of the Dragons or Mogg Infestation or Past in Flames, all of which surprised me. They're powerful red spells that often can close up a game when played at the right time.

You're kind of weak on draw. Mind's Eye and Scroll Rack are your best colorless options probably, and red is the color of Wheels. Try Wheel of Fortune and friends: they're what make my Judgment Day: Avacyn the Purifier EDH deck tick (comments and +1s appreciated!).

Zada, Hedron Grinder is bad here. Don't play her. Same with Dormant Volcano.

Any mana ritual that makes more than 6 goes infinite with Reiterate. I would suggest Mana Geyser in particular.

Why the various slow fetches? If they are only there for the synergy with Crucible of Worlds, I'd remove them. But if you DO keep them, add a Strip Mine too.

Happy deckbuilding! :)
