After playing this deck a few times, I have some cards that I may need to replace.
Cards currently in the hot seat:
These cards in particular have proven to be underwhelming in play and I would like to replace them with either more flying synergy, more efficiently costed cards, or good enter-the-battlefield cards (to play with Venser and the Galepowder Mage). If you have any suggestions, please drop them in the comments.

There are some spirit cards with some nice spooky art though.
Erdwal Illuminator, Fogwalker, Rattlechains, Silent Observer, Tower Geist, Geist of the Moors, Moonlight Geist, Niblis of the Mist, Topplegeist, and Voiceless Spirit.
acedev on Can you respond to Notorious …

Hello, my friend believes that ALL mana abilities can't be responded to except for stifle, and when I responded to his Notorious Assassin destroying my Voiceless Spirit , I used Vapor Snag to return it to my hand, protecting it from destruction. He thinks this can't be done and nothing can be used in response to his assassin's ability. Is this true or not? Where can I look for the official rules of MTG updated to Kaladesh? Thank you for your time.

oh hey, you got a Spirit deck too.... stretches arms and inter-locked finger cracking sound lets see what I can do here. lol
Just so you know, I only really only go thru the cards I have in front of me or own, usually I don't "Search Tapped-out" looking for these Increadibly awesome ideas... lol
So i'm sure better cards are out there... but just ideas I've seen...
Voiceless Spirit... at 2/1 you gonna die if you didn't kill the Attacker/or Blocking... a Geist of the Moors at 3/1 and for same CMC...kinda? It gets one of their 3/3 attackers... + your Spirit bonus's from Captain's and Warden's and Battlefield dudes... I like a 3/1 flyer better than a 2/1, a bigger threat to him/her... with the "Perks".
and "Hello, Mister-bug-in-the-Sprites" Darksteel Mutation I kinda like the Feat of Resistance add it to your "Attacker" against opponents Mono-Black deck.... Unblockable for a turn for the same CMC (instant vs. enchantment though?)... or another instant Gods Willing for a single ... OR..... Ajani's Presence for or more... the Bug Enchantment on Opponents Creatures is kinda funny thought though. kinda like a Turn to Frog for a turn... oh you have an Avacyn, Angel of Hope OTB? nope, She's a frog.... lol

I like the deck. The only Turn 1 play is Typhoid Rats. Similarly to this. You have a playset Voiceless Spirit for your 3 drops.
I suggest taking out the 6 cost cards. Maybe leave the Wurmcoil Engine at most to create a massive threat that can also keep you in the game with the life-gain effects. If they board wipe, or have a lot of spot removal, True Conviction becomes redundant.
Acidic Slime is based on your meta. If Artifacts and Enchantments are clearly prevalent, keep the playset. Otherwise consider removing 1 or 2.
With those extra slots, It's good to drop in cheaper cards, into the 1 and 2 slots. This will enable more consistency on your draws. As an example, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben would be a nice fit considering your creature count.
If you are aiming for a budget option, and like the way the deck strategy as is at present, I suggest Scry Lands (~ $2.50 each) and maybe some Man Lands (eg. ~ $3.00 each for Treetop Village. They are generally underrated, but can create a nice turn 1 play that can benefit extra consistency, synergy and create blockers to soak up damage. (ps. I just remembered, white and I think red provide 1st striking Manlands, possibly black with deathtouch).
This is from my many years of experience. I believe that taking this on board, you will notice a stronger, and favourable improvement and learning option.
I just want to make clear, that these are no more than a suggestions as I already, and do like the deck concept.
