It's by no means a good card, but I felt like pointing out that Vex exists. In trying to fix it, there's no way that making it zero mana is the answer.

Into the Story - Can suck early game and grave hate or shuffling wheels exacerbate this. My version of baral plays lots of time spiral effects. But this does intrigue me
Mindbreak Trap / Summary Dismissal - Is this to counter the uncounterable?
Vex - We can do better
Estrid's Invocation - Why?
Marit Lage's Slumber - Too slow and unimpactful
Bond of Insight - Better recursion, fuels graveyard decks, but is interesting
Mass Manipulation - Too expensive
Plea for Power - I have a love hate relationship with this card. But it's always hurt me more than it's helped.
Murmuring Mystic - Worse talrand is not needed
Elixir of Immortality - No purpose?

Hi, Fellin22! Thanks for the upvote. Vex really means Vex . It's part of the "nice Dimir" approach of this deck. It is a counterspell, but the caster gets a replacement card. :-)

I like a lot of the interactions in here....
some things I'd change if given access to the cards with this deck....
even with you getting free fetches from your commander and Voltroning it still feels pretty creature light... add Bruna, Light of Alabaster while a target is amazing Daxos of Meletis is total value, Invisible Stalker great for voltron even without Thrassa and maybe Thran Golem just to keep it fun and janky ? 4 more creatures would probably be enough but I have to also mention Kitsune Mystic as its pretty much the allstar of my Bant-Chantress deck.
Mundungu > Ertai, the Corrupted on flavor, fits deck great...
also cut:
Megrim - unless you see 3+ Windfall/Wheel of Fortunes almost every game in your meta....seems like a low value filler card.
Mana Leak - often a dead card as the game progresses
Render Silent and Punish Ignorance both seem over-costed and sub-par even for casual groups that might frown at too much counter magic. Countersquall is probably a better option for added value and Arcane Denial and Dream Fracture or even Vex are good ways to keep from making enemies too much.
Crystal Chimes and Retether are other good cards in addition to open the vaults. So is Replenish thought it not exactly budget.
Armageddon and Mana Vortex ? I know your commander gives you value for free but, you'd also want board dominance before dropping this...seems likely to backfire. If it works for you more power to you, me personally I'd stay away from that outside of elf decks and such.

Sigil of the Empty Throne - Detention Sphere - Vow of Duty - Traveler's Cloak - Spirit Mantle - Spectra Ward - Spirit Loop

After first match: reasoning
After the first match it became clear that this deck needed less restrictive, more efficient counters, and more fog effects.

If you going all on exploiting nekusar's ability, look at Dream Fracture and Vex as optional counterspell
