Vein Drinker Discussion
Vein Drinker, Debt to the Deathless, Consuming Vapors, and Door of Destinies were all cards that did pretty well in my vamp tribal deck, also Lightning Helix and Swords to Plowshares/Path to Exile are good removal spells.
Nirkana Revenant is a good way to gen a ton of black mana and swarm a bunch of vamps onto the board, and you can dump whatever mana you don't use back into her and swing heavy
Greed is arguably the best card draw black has.
Hope this helped! heres the decklist I made if you see anything in it you like :) https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/grandpa-markov-and-his-grandkids/

I'd cut a 3-4 of the worse creatures and get more ramp/draw.

In order to make this deck EDH-legal you should still remove 3 cards to make your total 100; not sure if you had noticed :) The mana-balance of this deck is a little off. What I mean by that, is that you're using a lot of expensive-to-cast creatures but virtually no ramping/mana rocks. This means that when you draw your opening hand in a game, chances are relatively high you will not be able to perform any (useful) actions during the first few turns. An additional problem is that the deck contains very little opportunity for you to draw more cards or to search for cards you need.
I would recommend adding some mana rocks like Rakdos Signet, Talisman of Indulgence, Commander's Sphere, Darksteel Ingot, Gilded Lotus, Rakdos Cluestone, Rakdos Keyrune and/or Worn Powerstone. Also, Dark Ritual is a very good accelerator for black.
In order to make room for (some of) these cards, I would definitely recommend removing expensive stuff that isn't doing that much for you like Bloodhall Priest, Kazarov, Sengir Pureblood, Markov Dreadknight, Skeletal Vampire and Vein Drinker.
Hope any of this helps. Regards,

These would be on my shortlist to replace: Crimson Honor Guard, Kheru Mind-Eater, Licia, Sanguine Tribune, Mathas, Fiend Seeker, Skeletal Vampire, Tithe Drinker, Vein Drinker, Skeletal Scrying, Kabira Crossroads, Curse of Disturbance, Curse of Vitality, Outpost Siege, Sanguine Bond, Consuming Vapors, Damnable Pact, Well of Lost Dreams
These are the first things I'd try to find a place for: Legion Lieutenant, Forerunner of the Legion, Champion of Dusk, Indulgent Aristocrat, Sanctum Seeker, Mavren Fein, Dusk Apostle, Bishop of Rebirth, Mirror Entity,Utter End, Anguished Unmaking, Vanquisher's Banner, Stensia Masquerade, Cathars' Crusade
If you're willing to spend the money these seem worth it to me: Shared Animosity, Anointed Procession, Phyrexian Arena, Twilight Prophet, Elenda, the Dusk Rose, Bloodline Keeper Flip, Drana, Liberator of Malakir
You can also go to edhrec.com and look up your commander to find a list of suggestions for the deck.
In general, it's a good idea to replace a card with one that does something similar. Like replace something that draws cards with something else that draws cards, or something that removes you opponents' stuff with something else that does that. The deck is already well balanced so you mostly just need to put in some upgrades and take out the cards that aren't focused. Also try to be careful not to replace too many cards with other cards that cost more mana.
You can spend almost as much money upgrading a mana base as you like. In particular, you want to replace lands that come into play tapped with ones that don't. These are some lands you could get that are relatively cheap: Unclaimed Territory, Caves of Koilos, Battlefield Forge, Smoldering Marsh, Graven Cairns, and Foreboding Ruins
Vault of the Archangel doesn't get you colored mana but it offers some great utility.

@EchoSpice: Firstly, thank you for your input, your insight is highly appreciated, and I've looked at your vampire deck. Fairly impressive overall. Secondly, all of your suggestions are actually exactly what this deck needed. (Especially Skeletal Vampire, Vein Drinker and Cathars' Crusade, I can't believe I forgot about those)Thirdly, while I will agree that Ashnod's Altar and Phyrexian Altar are not entirely necessary, I believe that having at least one free sacrifice outlet could prove useful.

check out my vampire deck, its pretty alright and does decent in tournies. I don't think Ashnod's Altar or Phyrexian Altar are really necessary, you could swap them out for more vamps. some favs of mine are Skeletal Vampire and Vein Drinker, but if they aren't what you're looking for, Greed is good for draw, and Cathars' Crusade pumps your creatures twice as fast with Edgar's eminence, or even 3 times as fast if you have Anointed Procession out.

I personally don't think Pawn of Ulamog deserves a spot in the deck, but that's because I'm playing a full out aggressive deck. I don't really like the life-gain aspect of vampires if it's front and center, so Licia, Sanguine Tribune, Tithe Drinker, Falkenrath Noble, and Vampire Nighthawk came out as well. I also cut Vein Drinker, Skeletal Vampire, Blood Baron of Vizkopa, Kheru Mind-Eater, Bloodhusk Ritualist, Crimson Honor Guard and Sangromancer.
All of this is what I cut from my deck, because its a beatdown/swarm deck. Things that take away from that don't deserve a spot. Butcher of Malakir is still in because I can kill my things to make them lose things, so I can punch them.
All and all, I think that you definitely should play some games with the precon, and see what does and doesn't work for you. I have a friend who plays Licia, Sanguine Tribune and goes for more of a pillowfort/lifegain deck. It's really up to you. Hope this helped.

Yes, it is because all the fights come from a single ability. State based actions are only checked when a player would receive priority, not in the middle of a spell or ability resolving. It's the reason why the ability on Vein Drinker where it deals it's damage first still functions almost identically to fight, because even if it kills the other creature that creature doesn't die until after it deals it's damage.
