Vedalken Humiliator

Creature — Vedalken Wizard

Metalcraft — Whenever Vedalken Humiliator attacks, if you control three or more artifacts, creatures your opponents control lose all abilities and have base power and toughness 1/1 until end of turn.

No problem, hope some of my ideas are helpful! If your group is fine with Sol Rings then they should help flip Erayo, there is also Moonsnare Prototype (the Channel ability can also be relevant) and Springleaf Drum that can turn a creature into mana, Sol Ring is probably better though! To pay no life to cast Vault Skirge would require Black mana, but since you only need to hit someone twice with a 1 drop to break even I feel like it's fine to pay the life, since it becomes very useful if you can buff it's power at all (hence using it with Cranial Plating).

Yeah, Cranial Plating is more of a 'fast' win con that is best used in 1v1 games, where you can arrange a turn 3 or 4 kill with it hopefully, if you have more people you might need something better at dealing with multiple opponents. If you're fine with 4 drops, have you heard of Vedalken Humiliator? Its much better vs multiple opponents, it makes your opponents' blockers into vanilla weenies. I would think a x1 or x2 at most if you like it.

If you want to protect your creatures IMHO one of the best ways to do it is Mother of Runes, I prefer her over Giver of Runes, fwiw she's only 1 mana.

Not sure when you posted this deck but Vedalken Humiliator is a GREAT card for U/R Artifacts! I'm also a fan of Master of Etherium and Third Path Iconoclast are a pair. As well as Porcelain Legionnaire and Spectrum Sentinel as decent offense

2ND ROUND OF CHANGES:

REMOVED: Temple of Deceit, Temple of Enlightenment, Temple of Silence, Tempered Steel, Liquimetal Torque, Scholar of New Horizons, Thopter Shop, Sphinx's Revelation, Bident of Thassa, Alela, Artful Provocateur, Etched Champion, Armix, Filigree Thrasher, Myr Battlesphere, Filigree Attendant, Vedalken Humiliator, Tawnos, Solemn Survivor, Losheel, Clockwork Scholar, Marionette Master, Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle, Ethersworn Adjudicator, Indomitable Archangel

ADDED: Glimmervoid, Power Depot, Forsaken Monument, Mind Stone, Darksteel Ingot, Hedron Archive, Dance of the Mance, Thoughtcast, Thirst for Knowledge, Master Transmuter, Lodestone Golem, Research Thief, Treasure Keeper, Mycosynth Golem, Myr Retriever, Sculpting Steel, Mechtitan Core, Mystic Forge, Dispeller's Capsule, Dispatch, Burnished Hart

COMMENTS: Deck feels powerful, but one dimensional in that it's just trying to pump out big dumb creatures asap; kinda cool. I've played 3-4 times with the current iteration and I'm looking to speed the deck up a little bit; lands coming in tapped, not quite enough draw, and too many non-artifact creatures being the two major areas of focus. I've actually reduced the amount of creatures with this round of changes so I need to check that this is OK.

Lands probably need more work, still too many tapped lands by far. Scholar of New horisons is fine, just doesn't fit in the deck, same with Tawnos (who likely needs his own deck, but I have done a few cool things with him). Tempered Steel, Indomitably Archangel and Ethersworn Adjudicator were hard cuts. But I've added removal, ramp in so I want to see if that's better. Tempered Steel with the thopters was particularly good and may get added in.

multimedia on Rise of the Constructs (Budget)

Hey, for those who are interested, I just made the first Phyrexia ONE upgrades which of course one of them is Encroaching Mycosynth, no explanation needed. Another one is Skrelv, Defector Mite, for more repeatable protection and ways to get more damage in with Urza or a Construct. Skrelv adds a new avenue to winning, poison. It will take a lot of time in game, but poison could now be wincon. The One Commander decks have been revealed and the full ONE set will be revealed this week, then I can get a better idea if any other budget cards are worth adding. I'm keeping my eye on the prices of at least three cards that have potential.

Other big changes have happen, but as a result the deck price has gone up, not much though. Skullclamp has been added because it's very good here with Sword of the Meek + Thopter Foundry, doing everything I want in gameplay: creating flying artifact creatures, repeatable draw, sac outlet for artifacts. The Mages have been added: Tribute Mage and Trinket Mage. They add more budget tutors for artifacts. When I control Encroaching Mycosynth they can be repeatable with Master Transmuter and Anrakyr the Traveller, etc. Tutored for by Sphinx Summoner which then gives me more access to assembling the Sword of the Meek + Thopter Foundry + Time Sieve wincon combo.

Some big cuts have happened, The Flesh is Weak and Vedalken Humiliator are gone. This combo was neat, but Weak not being an artifact is not where I want to be. Encroaching Mycosynth replaces Weak and without Weak I don't like Humiliator. I don't like that Humiliator can't trigger it's ability unless it attacks, consistently he does nothing the turn he ETB, that's not helpful if I'm only playing it for attacking. Encroaching Mycosynth does improves this combo, but I still cut it.

The Flesh is Weak + Vedalken Humiliator combo helped Constructs to attack therefore if cutting it I really should add something else to help combat. Vault of the Archangel is deceptively powerful with Constructs, just having it untapped with enough mana to activate it makes my Constructs essentially unblockable because opponents are not going to risk losing all their blockers to deathtouch + menace. To make it easier to get Vault I added Expedition Map. Another one drop artifact that can be repeatable a number of ways here. If Map isn't getting Vault then it can get an Artifact land Seat of the Synod which is quite good with Master Transmuter or get a sac outlet Phyrexia's Core for Wishclaw Talisman, etc.

Really cool list, love your channel. One card that comes to mind is Vedalken Humiliator. But you'd need more artifacts for it I think.

Thanks abby315 for the upvote and the tips! There are some contenders there I think:

  • Tezzeret, Artifice Master is a pretty good draw option with all the treasure, except that I'm not in a very good position to protect planeswalkers with this build, which is why I did not add it.
  • I initially started out with Thopter Spy Network and a lot of other cards that create thopters, but I steered away from that idea. Now I have don't have any artifact creatures anymore, so there's not a lot of synergy with spy network.
  • Dispatch is a solid removal option. I will consider that one!
  • I'm not sure about Amphin Mutineer and Azure Fleet Admiral. They are a bit expensive mana-wise. Mutineer does not have evasion, so does not really synergize with malcolm without additional support. And with the admiral I have a similar issue as with planeswalker that this is not the kind of deck that can protect monarch very well I think.
  • Vedalken Humiliator looks pretty fun. Could be strong with some of the pingers as well. Will consider that too.

Thanks for reaching out!

Super fun deck idea, I love it! Here are a few cards you might consider, but I'm not going to pretend to know whether they're worth cutting anything:
Tezzeret, Artifice Master
Thopter Spy Network
Dispatch
Vedalken Humiliator which has incredible flavor and can also help your pirates connect
Amphin Mutineer
Azure Fleet Admiral because monarch is good, and because it'll always be an unblockable pirate whenever you lose monarch.

Looking forward to seeing how this deck evolves!
