Untamed Hunger

Enchantment — Aura

Enchant creature

Enchanted creature gets +2/+1 and has menace. (It can't be blocked except by two or more creatures.)

If you link the cards in your question, it's easier for us to visualize your scenario.
Untamed Hunger
Chameleon Colossus

Protection from black doesn't do anything for Chameleon Colossus in this case. Your sister's green creature is the object dealing damage to CC. Untamed Hunger isn't doing anything to CC.

Note also that because Untamed Hunger gives the enchanted creature menace, you'll need to block with another creature as well as CC.

Some more information about protection (this excerpt from the MTG wiki):

Protection is commonly misunderstood as complete exemption from permanents, and effects created by cards, with the specified quality. However, protection is defined by a relatively narrow set of rules, which are often communicated using the mnemonic acronym DEBT. The object with protection cannot be:

  • Damaged by sources with the specified quality. (All such damage is prevented.)
  • Enchanted or equipped by permanents with the specified quality.
  • Blocked by creatures with the specified quality.
  • Targeted by spells with the specified quality, or by abilities from sources of that quality.

bewarekraken, there was a reprint of Untamed Hunger in a "Welcome Deck (2017)" which actually keeps it standard legal for who knows how long. MTGO lets me play it, at least. Regardless, I think your deck with a real finisher in The Scarab God is the way to go with this kind of approach. Mono black just doesn't have that good end game closer on its own. I may still try making an eternalized Dreamstealer into that finisher, but it'll never have Scarab God impact...

It looks like the Untamed Hunger Welcome Deck 2017 printing is not in the database.

First thing, your deck is in standard, but you're not playing standard legal cards. I assume you meant modern? You should change it.

your deck has some really expensive cards for an infect deck. Black gets access to a few proliferate cards.

Replace Spread the Sickness with 4x Grim Affliction. You put on the counter, then proliferate, killing anything with toughness 2 or less for 3 mana. The prolif effect is cheaper, and thus faster. Since you're playing mono-black, which doesn't have access to the same type of pump, you want more prolif. Also, if one of your infect creatures gets blocked, you can prolif the counters on what they blocked. I think 99% of the time it's a better card. Replace the Phyrexian Digester and the Guardians of Meletis with Core Prowler. It's another infect creature, and if it dies, then you get to prolif. Replace the Blackcleave Goblins with 2 more Ichor Rats, since they have a better etb trigger. Replace the Dark Favor and Deviant Glee with 4x Unholy Strength. 1 for 2 on 4 cards is better than one card being 2 for 3, and 3 cards at 1 for 2. Unholy Strength is also cheaper in dollar amounts.

Finally, remove the Virulent Wound for 2x Throne of Geth (2 mana to add a poison counter), and 2x Hand of the Praetors.

Even more finally, replace Untamed Hunger with Snake Cult Initiation. Use the Snake Cult on a flier since it stacks with infect. Yeah. Okay. Make the changes and I'll help you again after.

Your land count is a bit high, you could realistically cut a couple and still be fine which would give you room to add other spells.

As a general rule of thumb, most decks will run somewhere in the ballpark of 20-25 lands. Super aggressive decks that want the game to end quickly run on the lower end of that spectrum, and more controlling decks that want the game to go long will run closer to 25. Worth noting that either 20 or 25 is a bit extreme but some decks want that.

As for the spells in the deck, the majority of them are the sort that you cannot play until later in the game, or get better the longer the game goes on making you more of a control deck and less of an aggressive one. (I tend to favor control decks myself) There are a few cards in there that seem to be a bit out of place in that kind of deck though. Expedition Envoy, Kor Castigator, and Untamed Hunger are generally better on the attack than on the defense. Personally i would replace them with other cads that are a bit better at slowing the game down.

Another staple of control decks is being able to regain card advantage though card draw spells. White draw is pretty much nonexistant so your best bet is in black. Cards like Read the Bones (and most cards that allow you to draw multiple cards) are good for setting up your hand for the late game as will as ensuring you make your land drops. If you have any around, i'd throw a few in the deck.

The nice thing about control decks is you don't need as many ways to end the game. Take your deck for example: If you can slow down the game enough and draw enough cards, it's only a matter of time before you draw your splashy finishers. Aggro decks on the other hand (due to their nature of needing to end the game as soon as possible) have less flexibility. They need to make every card count because ideally they won't end up seeing many cards before the game ends.

Add something like Untamed Hunger

Kresh enchanted by Alpha Authority gives him hexproof and can only be blocked by one creature. Then enchant with cards such as Untamed Hunger, Kresh becomes giant Invisible Stalker

If I were you I would try to focus the deck. The non-creature spells in particular do not build toward any sort of pay off. I would for starters remove 2 Call the Bloodline and 2 Untamed Hunger to add in 4 Fiery Temper. You will almost never cast it for anything but one red mana. Start thinking about what your win conditions are, and play around a little to see what is working for you and what isn't.

xtopazinferno,
There are tons of Trample effects of course, but for other types of evasion, this is everything I know for Kaladesh Standard ...
