Trollbred Guardian

Creature — Troll Frog Warrior

: Adapt 2. (If this creature has no +1/+1 counters on it, put two +1/+1 counters on it.)

Each creature you control with a +1/+1 counter on it has trample.

Hardened Scales and Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider are pretty dope for counter decks like this one!

Hamza, Guardian of Arashin can make your big creatures cheap, and Gavony Township is a decent mana-sink if you end up top-decking.

Kodama of the West Tree, Bramblewood Paragon, Gnarlid Colony, Trollbred Guardian, and Tuskguard Captain each give your creatures with counters on them trample (Kodama being the best one).

Abzan Falconer gives them flying instead.

Basri's Lieutenant is a fun card since it can repopulate your board after a board wipe and can block a lot of problematic creatures like multicolored commanders.

Cryptolith Rite, Nature's Will, Druids' Repository, and [Bear Umbra] will give repeatable combats. Nature's Will is a bit expensive, so keep Song of Freyalise instead. You can remove Battle for Bretagard, Goblin War Drums, and Mask of Avacyn to use the other three enchantments if repeatable combats is your goal. Otherwise, here are some other great additions:

Cathars' Crusade will make HUGE creatures very quickly. Brave the Sands gives the vigilance needed to take advantage of Cryptolith Rite or have blockers. Impact Tremors will cause lots of pain over time. Raiders' Spoils card draw on steroids. Something you are SORELY lacking.

Kaya, Geist Hunter a great addition that will mostly be used for her -2 ability. Rhythm of the Wild is a good card to be replaced since most of your creatures will be tokens, anyways. If you don't go with Kaya, Cathars' Crusade would probably be a better replacement for Rhythm of the Wild.

Trollbred Guardian and Hamza, Guardian of Arashin requires +1/+1 counters but you don't have very many +1/+1 counters in the deck to take advantage of this. You can remove them and instead use Mindblade Render and Oakhame Adversary for card draw. You need card draw.

Replace Mardu Shadowspear with Brutal Hordechief

Usher of the Fallen and Imperious Perfect are fairly underwhelming. Imperious Perfect is a little better, but I'd at least replace Usher of the Fallen with Rhys the Redeemed. Honestly, I'd use Ogre Battledriver over Imperious Perfect.

Rubblebelt Raiders is nice, but Champion of Lambholt will make your creatures unlockable just as fast.

Tuya Bearclaw and Hamletback Goliath get big, but they can be chumped VERY easily. Lovisa Coldeyes will buff all your tokens that are harder to chump. You could maybe keep the Hamletback Giant, but Zurgo Helmsmasher or Samut, Voice of Dissent is a good choice in your deck if you decide not to.

Blaring Captain and Blaring Recruiter are also very underwhelming. Chief of the Edge can easily replace the captain, and the recruit can be replaced be literally anything (my vote would be for Impact Tremors if you haven't added it already).

You have A LOT of mana ramp in your deck, but your lacking card draw and removal. I'd maybe remove the Diamonds and add two or three mana rocks that tap for one of any color. That'll give your deck 10-11 forms of mana ramp. If you add three, that'll give room for two forms of card draw. Reconnaissance Mission, Bident of Thassa, Skullclamp, and Vanquisher's Banner are great options.

Instead of Fracture, I recommend Despark. Mortify is a better Murder but can also be upgraded by switching to Utter End.

Replace Warped Landscape with Secluded Courtyard.

Be aware that you're sitting at only 30 lands. If you find your have a mana-base problem, I'd take out Radha, Heir to Keld, Duskwatch Recruiter  Flip, or ANY of the previously discussed cards and add 3-5 lands. Out of the lands you should also add, I recommend Savage Lands, Arcane Sanctum, Crumbling Necropolis, Jungle Shrine, Nomad Outpost, Mystic Monastery, Path of Ancestry, and Unclaimed Territory.

New cards arrived today - woot!

Only a handful of replacements

Artifacts Out: Simic Locket , Manalith in Replicating Ring , Cosmos Elixir

Creatures Out: Trollbred Guardian , Whiptongue Hydra , Vorel of the Hull Clade , Sharktocrab , Progenitor Mimic and Biomancer's Familiar

Joining the team (from my MTGA Brawl deck)

The Tarrasque , Wandering Archaic  Flip , Tanazir Quandrix , Volo, Guide to Monsters , Thorn Mammoth and Kogla, the Titan Ape.

Nothing crazy as I'm trying to keep this deck fun with a chance to win out of no where. Hence the decks name :)

Any ideas are welcome!

This is pretty cool, Hamza is a pretty cool commander. I see you're focusing on artifacts, but there are some great lords for plus counters:

Abzan Falconer

Bramblewood Paragon

Tuskguard Captain

Pridemalkin

Trollbred Guardian

Champion of Lambholt

Also, Felidar Retreat is pretty busted.

The way this deck works is pretty simple. Get out Vorel of the Hull Clade and one other creature. Put a +1/+1 counter on that creature (using one of many possible methods) and start using Vorel's ability to make it huge. You can equip Illusionist's Bracers to Vorel to quadruple the +1/+1 counters instead of doubling them. You can also use Gilder Bairn or Hydra's Growth for even more counter doubling. I considered adding a Doubling Season, but it's too expensive. You can use Seedborn Muse or Bear Umbra + Murkfiend Liege to enable you to activate Vorel's ability during your opponents' turns.

Once the creature gets huge enough to one-shot another player, you can use Crowned Ceratok or Trollbred Guardian to give it trample, or you can use Skatewing Spy, Archetype of Imagination, or Invert the Skies (which has the same effect as Archetype, but temporarily) to give the creature flying. You could also use Rogue's Passage to make the creature unblockable. I'm considering more tech (like Herald of Secret Streams) to make creatures unblockable. Use your giant creature to finish your opponents off, one-by-one, or, for a quicker finish, use Pathbreaker Ibex or Overwhelming Stampede to make all your creatures huge and kill everyone at once.

There are a couple alternate win conditions in the deck. Simic Ascendancy will get 20 growth counters on it pretty quickly, and its hexproof-ness makes it hard to remove before your next upkeep. Using Vorel's ability a few times on Darksteel Reactor is another option.

notes: you have a lot of small creatures that you have to waste turns on buffing, you have a lot of card draw and not a lot of ways to keep all those cards, you have a lot of small synergies with merfolk/snake, but not enough to warrant having them IMO, could be better suited more focused on winning. cuts: Trollbred Guardian , Overrun , River Sneak , Experiment One , Coiling Oracle , Patagia Viper , Triton Shorestalker , Jace's Ingenuity , Ohran Viper , Verdant Confluence , Ezuri's Predation adds: Cultivator of Blades , Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury , Triumph of the Hordes , Reliquary Tower , Rancor , Doubling Season , Awakening Zone / From Beyond , Wirewood Symbiote , Hadana's Climb  Flip, Sudden Substitution , Devoted Druid , Temur Sabertooth , Bramble Sovereign , Thrummingbird , Tezzeret's Gambit , Faerie Artisans , Stubborn Denial

Yeah, seeing what you're saying about the raptor vs the apparition, I think you both have a strong point. I think maybe I can rest on Evolution, Karn's Bastion, and Ajani for my recurring proliferation and have a stronger bulk in my deck. But now I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to hold on to Pollenbright, or if maybe I should edge my curve higher to include Nissa, Who Shakes the World , Trollbred Guardian , or to even mainboard my oozes.

Also, I see what you mean for the Incubation combo, but I don't think I have anything worthwhile to use that to ramp into. Thank you for the tip, though, I never considered that combo before!

I'm newish to Magic and even newer to this site, and I'm really surprised and happy to see all the friendly help! Thanks so much, everyone!
