Thorntooth Witch

Creature — Treefolk Shaman

Whenever you play a Treefolk spell, you may have target creature get +3/-3 until end of turn.

For some reason, I thought I read "except by" in there. Nevermind that one about Castigator. Well the deck is really good as it is, but if reducing it makes it better, go for it.

What do you think about Pack's Disdain, Thorntooth Witch, and Shared Animosity?

Alright, understandable. The way I look at any deck is I give myself a set number of cards for each type or what each card offers. So since you want Treefolk/fatty bootied plants, I'd go with... 25 "theme" cards. 35 lands is my go to which would put you at 60 cards with the rest being support/fill. Of those remaining 40 I'd go, 5 wipes 5 spot removal, 10 draw, 10 ramp, and 10 general support. Of course you can tweak those numbers however, but it's good to have a basis. Once you start doing that you might realize you're going total overkill on one category and swapping cards around isn't as hard as it was (sometimes it is harder though lol).

All that said, a rough list I'd go with is something like this (again this is your deck and by all means take this with a grain of salt and/or ignore it if you see fit):

Regardless of what you do with any/all of that, good luck and hope you enjoy playing your deck!

I would take out these 10: Reach of Branches, Rootgrapple, Bazaar Krovod, Everbark Shaman (kinda iffy on this one), Pheres-Band Centaurs, Yoked Ox, Thorntooth Witch, Solidarity, Bar the Door, Ensouled Scimitar,

Then I would also swap out Affa Guard Hound for Abzan Beastmaster, Pontiff of Blight for Ulvenwald Observer, and Iron Will for Song of the Dryads.

I would also try to work in Putrefy and Mortify if possible.

@ The7thBobba

Trostani, Selesnya's Voice feels like it suits this deck with a good cmc and great etb effect so it is definitely a maybeboard. I had a look at Thorntooth Witch and i find it a little slow and weak for a 6 cmc card.

@ Smokus_Krakus

I do like Aligned Hedron Network, Fell the Mighty and Retribution of the Meek.

Especially using Fell the Mighty on Doran, the Siege Tower as a board wipe.

@Gamernatic Door of Destinies is a brilliant card for tribals (On my buy list for my artifact deck), but it's a noncreature and it's dropped too late to actually matter over Unstoppable Ash/Timber Protector, which have high value and immediate effect. After turn 4 I pretty much focus on getting Protector and Ash for required lethal buffs and protection. Those other Treefolks you mentioned, I considered for this deck before and Thorntooth Witch is the only one I'd consider for the lack of removal of the deck, and having a creature do that is pretty sick. Thanks for reminding, I'll playtest with it a bit. I'd require much more black splash to consider Fendeep, and that's not happening with the setup.

As for a nonbudjet version, I could build one later here when I won't have to focus on getting this right and not having my better half get apeshit on me for over spending :D

Door of Destinies, Black Poplar Shaman, Thorntooth Witch, and Fendeep Summoner may cost a bit too much mana for what they do, but they're powerful enough to mention.

And I know that you're wanting a budget build, but what would a "Money is no Object" version of this deck be? sub in fetchlands, shocklands, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and Cavern of Souls if you could?
