Sea-Dasher Octopus , Mystic Remora , and Thassa's Emissary would give you on flavor card draw which you could really use. Quicksilver Amulet and Back to Basics can really hinder opponents here. Also, Strata Scythe can get be fantastic with a combination of unblockable and basic land base. I love my sea monster deck, have fun!

Added Sage of Hours to the deck. Finally acquiring this card enables a game winning combo and it's the necessary piece as it enable to extra turns and prevent interaction with Simic Ascendancy to hopefully allow me to win the game. Decided to take Nylea's Emissary out of the deck as while it's nice to have Trample on Eutropia, Thassa's Emissary does a similar job and is far better for it by turning Eutropia into a card drawing engine. Therefore, cutting Nylea for the Sage makes sense.

So I'm trying to make a deck for my friend for his birthday and he likes Greek Mythology, specifically Poseidon, Hades, and Zues in this order. I'm wanting to stay in the Theros block and have 3 deck ideas but I need some advice and criticism because I don't want to make him a weak deck.

Here are what I've made:

The first one is using Heliod because I made this first and forgot there is a god that looks like zues but in MTG Heliod is the "Leader" or Highest ranking or whatever.

The second one is using Keranos and white humans so its 4 colors instead of 3.

The third one is sticking to the block and theme but also sticking to heroic and scry.

I have always been bad about including a safe amount of land in my decks so that is something i really need help with. I also wasn't sure if this was the best way to show the decks or if i should've just copy and pasted each text.

Dissolve might be a useful addition to this deck. Vortex Elemental and Thassa's Devourer are also fun additions to consider. Thassa's Emissary is quite fun. Divination is decent card draw. Other than that I have no suggestions. This deck looks fun!

Hi mushtard! I really like this deck list you have. I also have a Thassa, God of the Sea deck that looks almost like it! If I were to make some changes, I would take out any underwhelming cards like Thassa's Emissary & Sealock Monster for more impactful spells like Cyclonic Rift, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, & Pearl Lake Ancient. I'm also very unsure about the new Octopus Umbra. It's very flavorful, sure, but in a deck where your creatures are already big and scary it may not be that useful. I'll need to play with that more... If you ever want to take a look at my Thassa, God of the Sea deck and use it as a reference, you're more than welcome to do so anytime!

Well, to take you down a peg - honestly, these are my least favorite entries in the series.

Thassa's Emissary was very weak compared to the rest. Thassa really does not do riddles or tests to check the smarts of her followers.

I had to read the Daxos one two times before understanding it - the "as/as" structure is kind of clunky. I think there is a missing "much" in that sentence to make it more parsable.

Pyxis of Pandemonium is literally pandora's box on a ccard; the card text captures the flavor well, while the flavor text you suggested does not.

Magma Jet one I do not get at all. What sacrifice? Scry 2 is wisdom beyond measure? Is this supposed to be Purphoros flavored.

Titan's Strength was the one I liked the most.

Haunted Plate Mail, or really any artifact/enchantment that cranks his power to 11 to get >21 commander in two swings. Everything else should be mana rocks, counters, and draw.

Pemmin's Aura, Thassa's Emissary are some that I use in my Tromo Volt.
