Tawnos, Urza's Apprentice is being listed as an illegal card if the deck has Zirda, the Dawnwaker as a companion.

We have codeblocks you can use to make the theme even more on point. I'll show you what to copy and paste, in the codeblock itself.

===code

[[Tawnos, Urza's Apprentice]]

v1.0.4

set_budget(max=$120.00);

theme:("over-engineered");

%%notes: big mana

update_strategy:(tutor_for:([[Wand of Wonder]])); %%copy X times for huge value

-->if_FALSE, try:([[Gonti's Aether Heart]]) %%copy X times for huge value

-->if_FALSE, try:([[Lux Cannon]] or [[Grimoire of the Dead]])

-->if_FALSE, try:([[Prototype Portal]]) w/ ([[Rug of Smothering]]/[[Sharding Sphinx]]) %%copy X times for huge value

;

begin_lategame; %%notes: big mana control instants

update_strategy:((DRAW/GO), gameactions_all(instant_speed)); %%notes: intimidation/surprise factor, big mana w/ hasty commander

if(power_level=decrease): ([[Jhoira, Ageless Innovator]], zone(Command Zone));

end

===endcode

Just copy the entire thing and pop it into your description. Then you can delete my comment so it isn't posted twice on your deck <3

As some examples:

Why does the sideboard exist, and why exactly eleven cards?

Why do you get a legendary permanent of each type? I see this not as a restriction, but as broadening the gap between ultra cards, strong cards, and decent cards. If one person brings Silent Submersible , Tawnos, Urza's Apprentice , Paradox Engine , and Sword of Feast and Famine , having those cards always available is going to leave almost no chance for whatever was cobbled together from Dusk Legion Dreadnought , Radha, Heir of Keld, Grimoire of the Dead , and Demonmail Hauberk . The consistency is incredibly high, and I'm sure a more extreme example could be easily created.

What's the purpose of the baubles and trinkets?

Since there are loss restrictions, a dedicated Stax or Turbo Fog deck could potentially make the whole game virtually unwinnable for anyone. Is this a viable strategy, or should it be discouraged?

hey ive been playing around with this deck and while fun it suffers from hitting the curve after turn 6 ish because of your mana. you also have alot of cheat into the battlefield effects, which while good in other decks, is actually a bad thing in this deck type, doubly so because of mutate. if your going tron animar, then definitly maybe look at more colorless creatures because free cast is free, particularly myrs. because while its cool you can drop most of your deck on the table by turn 8 it seems, not alot power is being actually made. looking at it from a mutate focus, where etb doesn matter, just casting then id suggest.... - Strionic Resonator

  • combo more artifact creatures in as well for this guy
  • Tawnos, Urza's Apprentice

  • shut down all etb triggers anyway with this bad boy

  • Torpor Orb

    if in the crazy thing you call a stack something happens (like cheating in that important mutate card with that auto trigger...) that you dont want Voidslime

So just to pull everyone's answers together:

Jhoira, Weatherlight Captains's ability is an on cast trigger, whereas Panharmonicon 's ability is a replacement effect which specifically deals with enter the battlefield. This means that you would not draw as additional card from Jhoira's ability as these two effects do not interact with each other.

As Rzepkanut: pointed out, Strionic Resonator can be used to copy Jhoira's triggered ability while it is on the stack. Tawnos, Urza's Apprentice will not be able to copy Johira's ability (unless you make Jhoira into an artifact creature) since the source of the ability comes from a Jhoira herself, not the artifact being cast.

I think Strionic Resonator and Tawnos, Urza's Apprentice are the only permanents that can copy triggered ablilites like Jhoira's currently.
