Take into Custody Discussion

So like Esper Dragons Midrange maybe? Ha I like it but it seems like all your threats come down a bit deep in the curve (5 and up). Maybe throw a couple walls or more counter/bounce spells instead of Take into Custody and Sift .

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! I took out Lingering Souls and Take into Custody out for Mana Leak and Ghostly Prison. I am also looking around at other control decks for important cards I could add in for anything.

My one main recommendation is to mainboard Merfolk Trickster. I would probably cut one copy of Adeliz, the Cinder Wind and all three Take into Custody for four of them. It's only been a week, but I've been testing a wizard control deck and I've found that Merfolk Trickster is kind of insane.

swap Spontaneous Mutation for better removal. Your deck doesn't look like it builds up much of a graveyard. maybe Unsummon, Take into Custody, or Immolating Glare?

Also, -1 Bruna, Nissa, Voice of Zendikar might be better than that gideon for your deck. Selfless Spirit is another good 2 drop creature and works well if you ever decide to sideboard boardwipes like Fumigate.

I think someone once explained me those things wrong, can you guys please tell me what happens at each situation:

Situation 1: I'm attacking with Alpha Tyrranax, and my opponent declares blocking with Pharika's Chosen, i'm casting Shock targeting his Pharika's Chosen, what happens now?

Situation 2: I'm attacking with Alpha Tyrranax, and my opponent declares blocking with Pharika's Chosen, i'm casting Take into Custody targeting his Pharika's Chosen, what happens now?

Situation 3: I'm attacking with Loxodon Convert, my opponent does not block, but cast Shock targeting my Loxodon Convert, what happens now?

Thanks a lot!

If you are running Unsubstantiate, Topplegeist and Take into Custody you probably don't need Subjugator Angel. Instead you could try a bit more damage like Aethersquall Ancient and Aetherwind Basker. It looks like you are using a lot of energy so I would also take out Kujar Seedsculptor and put in Servant of the Conduit from your maybeboard. If you are willing to spend a little bit more you check out Botanical Sanctum and Aetherworks Marvel. If you want a planeswalker you could try Dovin Baan, he is a cheaper one that can still put on some pressure.

Let's say my opponent control two untapped creatures, for example two Alpha Tyrranax. I control one Loxodon Convert and choose to attack with him, my opponent block with one Alpha Tyrranax and I cast right away Take into Custody, targeting his blocking Alpha Tyrranax, now, does my opponent get the right to block with his second Alpha Tyrranax, or the damage would delt to him directly? thanks a lot!
