Swordwise Centaur

Creature — Centaur Warrior

Wouldn't you get more value making tuns of tokens than having vanilla creatures? Not suggesting, I'm just honestly curious... Also the flavor on Swordwise Centaur=++

Love what you've done with it though, looks like a lot of fun to play! Keep up the hard work^~^

But Swordwise Centaur is unique! (Although I don't know what Cteve's mom was thinking... naming him that...)

Maybe cutDefiant Khenra? After all he's identacle to Feral Maaka...

Hmm, I'm not sure how Gigantosaurus was missed. And I just built a Zacama/Dinosaur tribal deck as well...

I'll add it post-haste however whom shall I evict from the party?!

Tough call when all the other creatures are practically the same. I suppose I'll have to assign names and personalities to each of them now to determine who brings the least amount of party to the party.

I'll start my interviews with Cteve the Swordwise Centaur. What a silly way to spell Steve. I don't like him already. Things aren't looking good for you Cteve...

Alright, so I am giving you feedback based on the cards I know you have in paper, your budget, and your expressed desire to move away from aggro and into a more spell-based deck. The best version of your build right now is B/G Midrange, but since you don't have $1500 we'll have to make some adjustments.

Midrange runs more lands and less creatures than you have. 2 Hissing Quagmire is good, I know you have those so you can slot those right away. You won't be able to afford Verdant Catacombs so you could run Evolving Wilds instead like you are but I'd stick with two, you don't want too many lands that come in tapped. Look into running 4x Blooming Marsh and 2x Overgrown Tomb along with 4x Field of Ruin. Everything else can be a basic land, you'll want to run 2 or 3 more Swamps than Forests though and want 22-23 lands. Also, for budget 4x Llanowar Wastes and 2x Temple of Malady are ok, much better than running a bunch of basics. Most competitive decks run somewhere between 6-8 basics. My advice though is you don't want more than 4 lands in your deck coming in tapped, and 2 of those slots are already taken by Hissing Quagmire.

I know you have a lot of Doomblade, that's fine but I wouldn't run more than two and you should look into maxing out your playset of Fatal Push along with 2-3 Abrupt Decay and 2-3 Dismember. You can run 4x Rancor in Aggro but in midrange you only want 2x max. 3x Vampire Nighthawk is fine, other than that look into Tireless Tracker, Scavenging Ooze, Eternal Witness, and Mindslicer. Deadly Recluse is ok, the rest of your creatures don't really fit in midrange but if you want to go for a more aggro build with more Rancor and more creatures Swordwise Centaur and Kalonian Tusker are pretty good. You gotta decide if you want midrange or aggro though and stick with it. I will say that building aggro on a budget is easier. If you do decide to go the aggro route, you're running a lot of subpar enchantments and bulk ups. Look into Vines of Vastwood, its super cheap and amazing in any Green aggro build.

Also, 4x Duress is good but look into Inquisition of Kozilek as well. You could even run a combo of the two, like 2x Duress and 4x Inquisition of Kozilek or something. For now put in your full playset of Duress.

Dalektable: Nice deck. Left a suggestion. Here's my latest attempt at an Impact Tremors deck: The Ol' In-Out, In-Out. I use it to "EXTERMINATE!" opponents... ;]

UrbanGirlScout: you might like Elvish Warrior, Nissa's Chosen and/or Swordwise Centaur

malfeischylde: I actually asked because I saw the Chainer's Edicts, but same result, lol.

TheVectornaut on Centaur deck that favors Enchantments

Pheres-Band Warchief and Stonehoof Chieftain seem like strong inclusions in general. The latter is high CMC, but my suggestion is that you take this deck in a ramp direction anyway.

Step 1: Add Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and swap some creatures around to improve devotion. Ex: Swap Centaur Courser for Swordwise Centaur, Pharika's Disciple for Seton, Krosan Protector, Pheres-Band Tromper for Jolrael's Centaur. This also makes Nylea's Disciple more effective.

Step 2: Add enchantments that help you tap forests for additional mana like Fertile Ground, Overgrowth, Utopia Sprawl, and Vernal Bloom. These gain the benefits from Herald of the Pantheon and Dowsing Shaman and provide incredible acceleration.

Step 3: Find something to do with the mana. The easy answer would be to draw with Harmonize and play more centaurs. But I think the more interesting answer is to go for broke with Genesis Wave or Primal Surge (after removing Fruition). Play all (or most) of your deck, gain a ton of life, throw in Concordant Crossroads for haste, and swing with an indestructible, trampling centaur army.

That's how I'd do it at least, though I must admit I am a sucker for flashy plays.

Mandalorian on "Dredge" (Adding words makes people look)

Personally I like Cathartic Reunion and Faithless Looting to get cards in the graveyard over Mulch or Gather the Pack. You have more control over what goes to the yard with cards like Cathartic Reunion

You have a lot of ways to get creatures in the yard (they are not dredge creatures which is bit weird since they are cheap) but not many that come back, which is kind of the point of dredge. No dredge deck should have to run Disentomb.

Prized Amalgam,Narcomoeba, and Demigod of Revenge are fairly cheap options if you cant afford stuff like Bloodghast. These creatures should replace the vanillas like Swordwise Centaur. Elvish Mystic is also a little weird unless you're running Vengevine.

I like Shriekmaw over Fleshbag Marauder since you can choose what dies instead of the controller.

If you don't want the creatures that reanimate themselves and are looking for stuff that simply takes advantage of creatures in the yard like Ghoultree then you could look to make this a Strength from the Fallen deck? Strength from the Fallen plus the Nyx Weavers you're already running could put the trigger on a card like Den Protector or Nether Traitor for a lot of unblockable damage.

You need some cheaper centaurs. Since this is for an eternal format, may I suggest Skyshooter or Seton's Scout? Swordwise Centaur is also an option, albeit vanilla.
