Surging Flame

Instant

Ripple 4 (When you cast this spell, you may reveal the top four cards of your library. You may cast any revealed cards with the same name as this spell without paying their mana costs. Put the rest on the bottom of your library.)

Surging Flame deals 2 damage to target creature or player.

When you can play 5+ copies of each card, there's about a million different ways to win on turn one. For example:

Simian Spirit Guide -> Simian Spirit Guide -> Surging Flame -> flip over 40 other Surging Flame s.

Simian Spirit Guide -> Rite of Flame -> Rite of Flame -> Manamorphose -> rinse and repeat for near-infinite mana, cards, and storm count.

Dark Ritual -> Dark Ritual -> Entomb -> Animate Dead -> Griselbrand -> repeat Dark Ritual -> Entomb -> Animate Dead until you get whatever amount of whatever creature(s) you want.

Grim Monolith s and/or Mana Vault s to power out an early Emrakul, the Aeons Torn .

Even if you make the format Standard-only, you'd still have people doing bullshit like making a deck with nothing but Viashino Pyromancer s, Ghitu Lavarunner s, Wizard's Lightning s, and Mountain s for guaranteed turn 3 or 4 kills. There's a reason there's a limit of 4 copies. Without it, you end up with either a format that's decided by the coin flip or a banlist longer than the dictionary.

Have you thought about Atarka's Command? I know it doesn't hit creatures, but the green splash gives you more options for your deck. You can also use your Isochron Scepters to get extra lands into play. Probably the best thing, however, is that you get to play Destructive Revelry in your sideboard.

For strictly Boros colors, other options are Angel's Grace, Dawn Charm, Burst Lightning (you can pay the kicker even when it's imprinted), Deflecting Palm, Galvanic Blast (although you'd need more artifacts in your deck), Intervention Pact, Sudden Shock, Surging Flame, and Pact of the Titan.

Skullcrack is going to likely be the best option, however.

For a casual deck that's fun and good for beginners I'm going to suggest many packages and try to stay budget but some cards are expensive.

Copy Package: Harness the Storm, Quest for Pure Flame, maybe with Surging Flame and Surging AEther. Pyromancer's Ascension is a bit expensive but would work.

Scry Package: Some scry and burn like Magma Jet to get ripple going, OH! maybe Thunderous Wrath, sucks in your hand, but with scry it does work. Riddle of Lightning/Stormchaser Chimera would be interesting with those higher cost cards. Other scry cards are Voyage's End, Augury Owl, Omenspeaker, Geist of the Archives is good to slow down the game, there's also Mystic Speculation and Serum Visions but these are more expensive.

Control: I LOVE Condescend, scry and counter! There are also other staples, like Mana Leak, but I want to suggest more fun options like Essence Flux.

Aggro/Blitz/Burn: Monastery Swiftspear, Kiln Fiend, Lava Spike, Titan's Strength, Temur Battlerage, Assault Strobe, Mutagenic Growth, Artful Dodge, Aqueous Form, Distortion Strike, Akroan Crusader, Young Pyromancer, Bedlam Reveler, Nivmagus Elemental protects against counterspells, Rush of Adrenaline, Grim Lavamancer, Lightning Bolt.

Rituals: Pyretic Ritual, Desperate Ritual and I can't think of too much else in rituals.

Man, do you know how the stack works? It is first-in-last-out structure. If my Surging Flame is put onto the stack after your Chancellor of the Dross triggers, it means Surging Flame will be resolved before the triggers. Please learn just the basic rules before arguing on that matter.

It isn't before the untap step, it is on upkeep (it is clearly written on the card).

And it is not an activated ability, it is a triggered ability. When these abilities are on the stack, you can simply respond to them by exiling two Simian Spirit Guides and casting a Surging Flame since it is an instant.

Nope, your Chancellor of the Dross triggers are put onto the stack at the beginning of the first upkeep. I can just respond to these triggers and kill you with Surging Flames before they resolve.

25x Surging Flame 15x Simian Spirit Guide

The deck above eats your deck for a breakfast.

Grenzo, Dungeon Warden? He's quite powerful, actually. I've even seen some lists that abuse Insidious Dreams with the ripple mechanic from Coldsnap to put the cards that they tutored to the top directly on the bottom, such as by tutoring Surging Flame to the top with four combo pieces directly underneath it. Doomsday is just somewhat more intuitive. Certainly worthy of tier two--under either system.
