Spoils of Evil Discussion

And sorry if I only briefly mentioned your topic, I just thought I should mention the rest. And as for Spoils of Evil , you should put it in your sideboard, that way if you know your opponents have artifacts and creatures you can keep it in, and if not you can replace it with a land

If you need help with knowing how much/what ramp to use, you might want to check out https://www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/brewer-s-minute-ramp-math
I am not an expert in mono, but for you I recommend adding:
Myriad Landscape can go in almost any edh deck
Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is solid in any one- or two-colour deck
Lake of the Dead has a downside, but you won't care when you're using it (trust me)
Petrified Field to protect valuable lands.
I'm not sure how I feel about Temple of the False God , but it is an EDH classic.
Other mono ramp
I ended up finding so many mono ramp cards I thought I might as well make a more full list.
Solemn Simulacrum is a good catch-all
Nirkana Revenant is good in the right deck
Bog Witch is kind of weird, but has fringe uses
I haven't thought hard, but you might be able to do some flicker shenanigans with Priest of Gix
Worst case, an edh deck can always load up on rocks. These are some of the best ones for mono black
Sol Ring every edh deck should include this
Pillar of Origins for tribal decks
In most games, these do the same thing: Commander's Sphere , Cryptolith Fragment Flip, Cultivator's Caravan , Darksteel Ingot , Hierophant's Chalice , Honor-Worn Shaku , Mana Prism , Manalith , Orazca Relic , Phyrexian Totem , Powerstone Shard , Pristine Talisman , Seer's Lantern , Serum Powder , Skull of Ramos , Sol Grail , Spectral Searchlight , Vessel of Endless Rest , Victory Chimes , and Chromatic Lantern
Thought Vessel if you fill your hand
Chrome Mox is usually worth the card disadvantage
Mox Amber if you usually have your commander/a legendary thing out
Mox Diamond if lands in your graveyard is a good thing
Mox Opal if you have 2+ extra artifacts
Black Market is good if you tend to sacrifice/kill a lot of creatures
Liliana of the Dark Realms is nice with proliferate, and makes sure you don't miss land drops in the mid/late-game
Sword of the Animist is best with one-mana creatures, and if you attack often, but might be justified even if not
Carnival of Souls is fun with some creature-based combos
Crypt of Agadeem works, but only if you consistently have 4+ creatures in the graveyard
Phyrexian Tower eats your creatures
Cabal Coffers is a staple
Cabal Stronghold is great if you can't afford many nonbasics, and might be good enough besides.

@jj4622 - I agree with you, my deck building spreadsheet now has Spoils of Evil cut over Rain of Filth, and Thermo-Alchemist cut for Fury Storm. I’m likely going to overhaul the primer soon to more closely resemble my sek’kuar primer Lord of the Flies: Sek'Kuar Lands Primer. Thanks for all of your help and interest!
@chewydownlow - I like where your head is at! I think there is totally a version of this storm build that plays more like a cross between modern KCI and the old Eggs deck - playing Second Sunrise, Faith's Reward, Krark-Clan Ironworks, and Scrap Trawler, ditching the regular cantrips and loading up on more cantrip artifacts. That deck 100% wants the Basalt Monolith combo plus Rings of Brighthearth. At that point we are just playing Burnt Offering and Sacrifice to combo with Faith's Reward effects.
But I think for a more spell based storm deck like this build we really don’t need infinite mana so much as have most of our spells generate net positive mana. But I totally feel like that deck would be awesome!

i think you might be onto something with cutting Spoils of Evil; if nothing else its pretty high variance and can be just a non card if you're going off early, which seems pretty bad considering most combo decks want to kill pretty quickly. As for not cutting into rits, you cut Rain of Filth for Sacrifice, and now you're trying to add back in rain of filth, so its not like you're net losing any rits overall, simply cutting subpar ones for better alternatives.

You certainly aren’t wrong about Rain of Filth. Even if we are trying to go off turn 4 that’s typically something like a Cabal Ritual. The only issue is that it can’t be used twice, so it doesn’t do double duty during a Yawgmoth's Will.
Lotus Petal is nice because it can make white mana and it also has no initial investment, you may very well be right in that it’s the weakest ritual, but I’d be more inclined to cut like Pyretic Ritual or Spoils of Evil, which can often be awkward especially if we’re comboing early, prior to any board carnage. But honestly maybe I shouldn’t even be cutting any rituals at all?
