Spark Harvest Discussion

Swan Song and Spark Harvest? Vona's Hunger also does not seem to synergize with your commander. Cool deck, love fight fixing myself!

Hey zAzen7977!

Dude, Rotting Regisaur looks nasty! Liliana, the Last Hope would be a great fit when I've got the $$$ for some more magic cards! lol.

Witch's Cottage looks useful too.

Experimenting with new removal spells all the time. I've had both Fatal Push and Spark Harvest in the deck and like them both.

You're right about Soul Stair Expedition being slow. I had a bunch of crack lands and thought it might be worth a try. I'm currently trying out Grim Discovery. Think it will be nice for digging a Stitcher's Supplier or a Carrion Feeder AND a crack land for the Bloodghast. Limited testing on that card.

I play on MTGO, so these decks are changing often!

Have quite a few play hours in. Deck runs really well.

Thanks for the advice buddy!

Hey, thanks for the recommendations! I looked at Pawn of Ulamog while I was building this deck, but at the time I wanted to make it hyper-budget so I skipped it. Now it should slot in nicely, though!

I'll test out the deck with the no-Tribute build, but I've found that the instant speed sac trigger/removal has been useful despite its higher cmc. The life gain is more of a bonus than the actual reason for having it in.

I originally had Tragic Slip in here when I was running more Morbid cards, but found that I had enough removal that it wasn't 100 percent worth it to not have removal that can also activate sac triggers (hence the 4x Spark Harvest). So I'll probably keep that in maybes for now.

Glad you liked the build, thanks for your suggestions!

Hey man the synergy between Witch's Oven and Cauldron Familiar is too good to pass up in my opinion.

Another great card on decks like these right now is Spark Harvest it gives you a sac outlet as well as targeted removal for

If you are not opposed to a third colour, red has a lot of nice options here.

Fling and Mayhem Devil would be the top 2 to consider in my opinion.

I have been very curious about a sacrifice deck based around Cruel Celebrant though myself so am interested to see how this works for you. Good job keep it up.

Spark Harvest is probably better than Severed Strands. Crashing Centaur is a little slow for a discard outlet at six mana. The shroud is nice, but you might want to consider Bog Witch. Costly Plunder is strictly better than Altar's Reap. Talisman of Resilience is good ramp, and a wrath or two lie Crux of Fate or Damnation might be good, depending on your budget. Stitcher's Supplier is very good self mill, as is Satyr Wayfinder. Cut Windgrace Acolyte for one of those, or some other, cheaper self mill if you can't find those two. Deathgreeter does Sultai Flayer's role better than the Flayer.

Spark Harvest would be good to replace Phyrexian Altar to save you 200 quid

I was thinking Deathpact Angel because it has a high CMC and doesn't seem very important to the deck's theme.

Pillory of the Sleepless is okay control but I think you have enough other control and life-loss cards in the deck that losing it wouldn't cause much harm.

Syndicate Messenger is okay, but it's a bit expensive for its Afterlife and flying. Of course, flying is always important in any deck, especially when you run white, but taking advantage of Afterlife in cheaper creatures (which create double the tokens with Teysa) fulfill that part of the deck. (Check out my deck for examples if you want)

Knight of Sorrows is also a little too expensive to be fairly valued for its Afterlife.

Karmic Guide is extremely expensive, especially with its echo cost, and only provides a bit of recursion.

I think it's fair to replace Yawgmoth's Vile Offering with Bone Splinters or Spark Harvest because they provide the same removal and Yawgmoth's Vile Offering only has one card of recursion more than they do and costs more to cast. You could also take out Utter End Vindicate, or Mortify for the similar reason of simply lowering your average CMC.

Also, Worn Powerstone is not a very good mana rock, but it's in for a totally different purpose than the cards I recommended so of course if you need that mana then keep it in.

Hope this was helpful! I really like your take on Teysa!

Also, thanks I guess because I am taking some suggestions from your decklist to add to my Teysa Karlov deck, Teysa's Cheery Sacrifice. :-)
