seshiro_of_the_orochi unfortunately this deck (at the moment) doesn't have any real ramp in it, meaning it needs every land it can get pre-turn 5 so I can't see a spot in it for Simian Brawler. Perhaps when the deck comes together I'll have a better idea of what can be switched around

Very cool :) take my +1. What about Simian Brawler + Splendid Reclamation as a funny little tech to ramp and to put multiple treetop villages onto the battlefield at once?

Survival of the Fittest would be in if I thought I could get one any time soon.
Skirge Familiar is definitely good with the dredge package, giving another route to infinite mana. However, I think 5cmc is a little high for a piece of the puzzle. That'd be dropping much later than I'd want him to, and if I'm looking to Reanimate him instead, I'm past the point of needing a Discard Enabler, and am probably already looking at Infinite Mana. Definitely good in the deck, but I'm choosing to leave him out for my build.
Simian Brawler & Tortured Existence seem to just be bad Discard Enablers as far as this deck is concerned.
Patchwork Gnomes provide an easy-to-cast free Discard that also lets Necrotic Ooze protect himself from the 'yard. Trespasser il-Vec seems viable as a Discard Enabler but does nothing from the 'yard. Shadow is redundant, as Trample is only a away. Both come down one or two mana later than the current Discard Enablers. Both worth thinking about.
