Thanks king-saproling and Gidgetimer for your feedback, it's very much appreciated!

I've made some changes in the deck. In came:

Now I agree with Gidgetimer in not removing those ramp spells. But despite I went from my average CMC of 2.82 to 3.02, I don't really see a reason why to play more than 10 ramp spells, because the majority of cards in the deck is extremely cheap.

I will not add the Mike/Trike combo - I've once played in another deck and to be honest I don't like that combo too much.

I'm still thinking to add that perfectly timed Song of Freyalise and that Cauldron of Souls as that means a new snake for each dying snake, right? I want all my opponents to quote Samuel each time I play this deck :D

Thanks again guys for your help!

Hi, I'm currently running 29 creatures. Most of them have a -1/-1 counter ETB in order to constantly bring more threats and snakes while controlling the other sides of the board. I can see you added Devoted druid and his best friend Quillspike, that's nice ! Karn's bastion and sadistic obsession seem goods but I haven't tried them yet.

Here's my list, made just for you <3. Hapatra 05.07.2020 [multi]

At first sight I'll make those changes :

Midnight Banshee > Soul Snuffers Midnight banshee kills your snakes every turn and you won't be able to attack with them anymore.

Spread the Sickness > Splendid Agony Makes 2 snakes at instant speed.

Grim Poppet > Serrated Biskelion Makes the same as Grim poppet while costing 3.

Cauldron of Souls doesn't work so well since it can't save your tokens. Best way to protect your board is Heroic Intervention but is a bit expensive.

I'm not fond of boardwipes in this deck since it takes some turns to make a decent amount of snakes. Personally, boardwipe is my main nemesis when playing Hapatra, I don't want to use it against myself. Did you manage to get real value from Gaze of Granite ? I'm running Maelstrom Pulse instead but I'm curious.

See you.

Witherscale Wurm taking wither damage won't trigger Hapatra, so there is not much point for him in he deck.

Are you really creating enough tokens to make Bloodflow Connoisseur , Bloodthrone Vampire and Carrion Feeder worthwhile? In my experience with myhapatra deck, the snakes are way to valuable to be sacrificed for a mere +1/+1 counter or +2/+2 until EoT on some creature with no evasion.

Fevered Convulsions , and Gnarled Effigy look terribly unefficient, for mana for a -1/-1 is way too much. I used to run Serrated Arrows and Trigon of Corruption but I ended up cutting them, maybe they could work fine in your deck as you are going strong on Proliferate. Now I'm testing Serrated Biskelion but I'm not completely sold on it, you know you never get to draw the cards you are trying out...

Decimator of the Provinces is also way too costly, even if you emerge it, and all the trouble just for a wide +2/+2 trample; a simple Overrun would give you a better bang for your mana. Predatory Rampage will wipe most of your oponent's creatures and Revenge of the Hunted is a one player board wipe. I also find Loyal Guardian to be an underrated card to spread counters on your creatures.
Canker Abomination will only get you a snake no matter how many counters it gets, so in the best case scenario it would be a 5/5 with one snake for four mana, its not really worth the deck slot. There are many creatures in the Amonkhet block that will do just that but better.

on the evasion department I would definetly cut Tawnos's Wand , Hot Soup has a bit of a drawback, but Hapatra only has toughness 2, so it won't be a big difference anyway and the card is really funny. Trailblazer's Boots is a bit more expensive, but I would still consider it a budget card.

These kind of decks are supper weak against board wipes, so I'd encourage you to include Golgari Charm or Wrap in Vigor .The best card for that task would be Heroic Intervention but it's getting more and more expensive every day.

If you want to check my Hapatra deck, it's this one Hapatra's death hosts

@Snickles@EDH_only Thanks for the sugestion, I thought about Serrated Biskelion and Eye of Doom when started this deck, but they got cut out to fit another stuff. To be honest the only reason I use Silver Myr instead of Coalition Relic is because I like the art. (and I need the Relic in my Bruna EDH)

@Thunderide Please check the FAQ.

@Alkadron Thank you sir, I gave my best at making this deck as unnecessarily complicated and suboptimal as possible.

I love Arbiter of the Ideal - I didn't catch that it was a token effect, even if it has no other purpose. very nice call!

Serrated Biskelion might be worth running - shrinks creatures, would kill itself but with your commander... It's a nice alternitive to Serrated Arrows, the staple for prolifferate decks for re-appliably -1/-1 counters

perhaps Coalition Relic over myr? less fragile, plus can generate a charge counter, interact with other charge artifact stuff.

Eye of Doom? it fits the rediculous theme you have, and prevents opponents from realisitcally destroying your stuff in multiplayer.

love the concept! I like goofball decks alot more than infinite compeditive combo jank (see Squee: All the hats or Tom Cruise Crazy for what I mean). Very nice work!

Hey there !

I would suggest you some ramps spells like Rampant Growth, Nature's Lore ( my personnal favorite ), Farseek ( even if the fact that you don't include Bayou or Overgrown Tomb makes it less effective ), Kodama's Reach and Cultivate have the advantage of not being turn two drops so you can get your commander on the table and next turn start to ramp.

I really don't like the Tempt with Discovery and I usually am not tempted when anyone plays a card like it. It is way too expensive even if, in the right condition I get it, that cards goes bonkers and trim your deck. Also even if Harvest Season is a great card on paper, you want to ramp early, even if you didn't miss a drop you can only hope for a 3 lands spells on turn three. Considering you would need a Sol Ring in your hand, a basic of each color, Thrull Parasite, Sakura-Tribe Elder AND Noose Constrictor in your opening hand. That's a real struggle I think. You would rather have a 1-2 ramp spell most of the time.

I love the inclusion of Uncage the Menagerie but it only has 5 targets at X=3 ( if you didn't draw any yet ) and 5 at X=4, I think it would be interresting to work on that and change a bit your curve. I would prefer going for more 3CMC cards, as I think casting more cards is better than casting a big one each turn.

Some good 3 mana creatures that would fit your deck are :

Skullwinder : Better than Eternal Witness sometimes...

Banewhip Punisher : Good cheap removal that gets often overlooked.

Serrated Biskelion : Two snakes in a turn if Hapatra is on the battlefield.

Manglehorn : It can mess with a late Sol Ring or most of the ramp / filter artifacts and pretty cheap card !

Another great creature that I would love to include in my deck if the format was 101 cards is Tenacious Hunter pretty budget and a killer in 1v1.

Sorry for the long comment, hope this helps in case you were seaching for some new cards to look at for your deck that seems already fun to me :) Have a nice day !
