TypicalTimmy I have no idea why they're called Scent. The original cycle is Scent of Jasmine, Scent of Brine, Scent of Nightshade, Scent of Cinder, and Scent of Ivy. Apparently smelling like ivy makes you big and strong, while smelling like the ocean makes spells go away. It's like essential oils, but they actually do something.

Scent of Cress

Instant

Reveal any number of green or blue cards from your hand. For each card revealed this way, target creature's base power and toughness becomes 3/3 until end of turn.

Since Thassa is in there, it looks like there can be piracy-related creatures even if they're not specifically pirates. So Treasure Nabber is a nice way to use other people's mana rocks without running any yourself. And since Thassa is in there, blinking a thief like Agent of Treachery each turn is piracy, right? Kukemssa Pirates also lets you steal their mana rocks with less questionable flavor.

Cut / Ribbons (cut to ribbons) is a pirate-y saying, right?

Barbed Sextant is color fixing with incidental card draw. Very pirate-y! High Tide is ramp-y.

Deck's pretty blue, so Scent of Brine might be useful interaction.

Does Killing Wave count? Devastation Tide wipes the board. Drown in Sorrow/Golden Demise are...bad..boardwipes for you, but maybe something? Also Powder Keg, Doom Cannon, and Coral Net are bad removal.

Old Man of the Sea is also...weird...

Lightning Round: Renegade Map. Tidal Surge. Pillage. Shivan Reef. Dreadship Reef. Soaring Seacliff. Lonely Sandbar. Breaking Wave. Explorer's Scope.

I suppose it would really depend on where you want to take the deck. Are you looking for a more combo oriented deck? More aggro? Something in between? How important is the theme? What kind of budget are you looking at to expand the deck? I'm goiung to assume that you really want to keep the budget low so I'm going to keep my recommendations cheap. I will mention a few cards that cost a bit more, but I'll point those out.

Here are some ideas to consider. The following cards are kinda weak or disrupt your own game plan. You should consider swapping them out.
Deep Spawn and Tolarian Serpent would be good cards for running in a deck where you are self milling in order to fill the graveyard for reanimation effects or a Laboratory Maniac. But I don't think that is the strategy that you are going for. I do see the interactions with Back from the Brink but it seems pretty weak to me.
Denizen of the Deep is a good fattie. But it wipes your board and leaves your opponents with all of their threats. If you are using it to reset ETB triggers, there are better ways.
Homarid Shaman only targets green creatures. This could be a meta choice, but there are so many better things to run.
Island Fish Jasconius is another decent fattie, but the investment of three mana each turn becomes a problem when you need that mana for other spells.
Leviathan would work for me if it did NOT have the requirment of sacrificing two lands for each attack. Without the ability to return Islands form the graveyard to the battlefield, this just eats your mana base.
Marjhan can eat a creature 'borrowed' with Seasinger's ability. Without the Seasinger then you have to use the Crab Umbra to untap it. I do like the shoot attacking creature ability. Adding deathtouch via Gorgon Flail could kill several attackers each turn.
Polar Kraken really needs to go. That cumulative upkeep is just TOO much.
Thing from the Deep is another creature that just eats your mana base and doesn't provide enough benefit for the self induced land destruction.
Sunken City is a great card as long as nobody else is playing blue. The card does not say "you control" so it helps your opponents creatures too.
Vanishing is kinda cute. But keep in mind that phasing does NOT trigger enter the battlefield abilities. There are better choices.
High Tide is a great card in competitive Legacy decks where you combo off and kill in a single turn. As a one-shot effect, not very good for commander games.

Scent of Brine requires you to show everyone what cards you have. I think a simple Cancel would be better.

If you have the budget for it consider the following cards:
Freed from the Real and Pemmin's Aura would act as additional copies of Crab Umbra.
Phyrexian Vault would work well with the Seasinger to eat other peoples creatures and give you some card draw. There are other artifacts, enchantments, and some lands that can sacrifice creatures. Altar of Dementia is a great sacrifice outlet but it is $2-$3.
Tidal Flats would give your attackers first strike unless your opponents tap mana for each attacker.
Minion Reflector could be a lot of fun.
Tromokratis, Shrouded Serpent, Lorthos, the Tidemaker, and Ring of Evos Isle are cards I use in my deck that work fairly well.
Consider adding a Learn from the Past, Psychic Spiral, or Reminisce into you deck to get cards back and add some resilency.

Let me know what you think. As always, temper these recommendations with your collection and your budget.

Good deck, so there's a +1 there. The only thing is, Nevinyrral's Disk and Scent of Brine aren't modern legal, so I would suggest Bontu's Last Reckoning and Mana Leak as substitutes for them.

MrDilliams on Ban Sol ring?

So far none of these situations are incredibly unpreventable. If you have a player who uses lots of mana rocks to hit say a turn 2 Kozilek play more counter magic or artifact destruction. Here is a list of cards to effectively prevent that. Vandalblast, Path to Exile, Force of Will, Disenchant, Gleeful Sabotage, Natural State, Naturalize, Nature's Claim, Seal of Cleansing, Seal of Primordium, Abrupt Decay, Annul, Arcane Denial, Artifact Blast, Counterspell, Countersquall, Cursecatcher, Dash Hopes, Daze, Delay, Deprive, Disdainful Stroke, Negate, Essence Scatter, False Summoning, Force Spike, Illumination, Izzet Charm, Judge's Familiar, Mana Drain, Mana Leak, Mana Tithe, Miscalculation, Nullify, Preemptive Strike, Prohibit, Psychic Barrier, Remand, Remove Soul, Rites of Refusal, Rune Snag, Scent of Brine, Spell Pierce, Steel Sabotage, Stubborn Denial, Withering Boon, Journey to Nowhere, Suspension Field, Ancient Grudge, Artifact Mutation, Cradle to Grave, Crumble, Crush, Shatter, Destructive Revelry, Devour in Shadow, Divine Offering, Doom Blade, Dreadbore, Terminate, Echoing Ruin, Elvish Scrapper, Fury Charm, Glissa's Scorn, Go for the Throat, Hero's Demise, Hull Breach, Malicious Affliction, Overload, Oxidize, Pongify, Rapid Hybridization, Gift of Tusks, Primitive Justice, Rakdos Charm, Reprisal, Shattering Pulse, Smash to Smithereens, Smelt, Soul Reap, Sundering Growth, Tel-Jilad Justice, Terror, Valorous Stance, Vendetta, Victim of Night, Wear, Wretched Banquet.

All of these cards could most likely have stopped at least part of that combo. In here are a mix of all the colors in magic. And this isn't even all of the cards that could respond to that series of plays. Of course some of these are expensive, some probably are not the best for Commander. But if you sit here and say we should ban a card like sol ring because maybe someone will get very lucky and have all the needed cards for a t2 Eldrazi titan then all I have to say is maybe you should make it so your deck has responses to a t1 sol ring or a t2 Eldrazi. Commander is the format where players are encouraged to do insane things to dream of that miracle hand, but it is also like any other format. You need to build your deck to have responses if that miracle hand was to happen. Don't complain that someone always wins because they have the t1 sol ring/mana crypt/mana vault if you neglect to put adequate responses in your deck. Same goes for any big Eldrazi or a Blightsteel Colossus. Luck is a part of this game too and when the time comes that you have no response to that player with the t2 Kozilek hand just be excited that you saw a t2 Kozilek, and have fun, it isn't the end of the world, Murder could be the card on top of your deck.

TL;DR: Play cheap removal in your EDH decks in case of emergency. And Luck is a cruel mistress at times.
