I like this.

Sage's Row Savant, Tah-Crop Skirmisher, Umara Entangler and Cloudkin Seer are all 2/1 creatures that also have something else going on.

My favorite pairing with Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive is Tandem Lookout.

I would nix Sage's Row Savant for Overwhelmed Apprentice . I think it's worth going -2 island, -2 counterspells (probably Quench ) for +4 Opt .

I'd also lose the remaining Quench for Syncopate , since it can still counter something turn 2 but gets better in the late game.

I think having a couple of "sweeper" options mainboard is worth considering, too; Cyclonic Rift is probably the best for its versatility, but Crush of Tentacles is a good budget option that can also be your backup wincon.

If you'd like to stay heavy on counterspells, too, Supreme Will will give you a little more flexibility than the true hard counters do.

It looks like Watcher for Tomorrow will trigger twice on the Hideaway. I dunno, I could see this as being a good alternative to Sage's Row Savant . The big downside is that the card doesn't go straight into my hand, though I do get to fish through four cards, which is pretty powerful.

Hi, cool list! I am putting together a Jalira PDH, so this is a nice inspiration pool. It looks like you haven't updated your list in a while, so just out of my head: Chillbringer (freeze), Dimir Informant (surveil), Sage's Row Savant (scry), Aviation Pioneer (thopter token), Scholar of Stars (card draw).

Sweet idea. Although when I playtested time after time the mana was horrible. Definitely needed another land from the feel of it. However, adding 2x more Sage's Row Savant might be enough with addition of shock lands. Probably over Mentor of the Meek, which is just clunky in an already really easily disrupted strategy. At the very least 12-13 blue and red sources for consistency.

The deck also looked easily disrupted by removal and lacks much interaction with opponents. Although I get it's a combo wombo deck I looks like shaving a few blink spells for some other card draw or removal.
